We are quite familiar and we love visiting Michelin restaurants around the world. So the La Fontanina was selected for this reason. Pricing was high but reasonable when you decide to visit a Michelin restaurant. However the total experience was a disappointment. Reasons: 1) Uncomfortable seats. 2) Food after trying several restaurants in London, Paris, NY etc was not Michelin... More

Amazing decoration with real "treasure". The tasting menu is only euro 110 per person, but you can definitely enjoy service at Michelin 3 Stars. All the dishes would surprise you and not to mention the last dessert plate, which you may have to take out because of the large portion! Besides, the waitress are all qualified who can speak several... More

The food was really dissapointing, the setting is too cheasy. Staff ok but the cook was trying to tell us that our main dish which was really too salty was like it was supposed to be eventhough the waiter agreed with us... Dont know how this is a michelin starred restaurant...

Very disappointing meal. The staff was friendly but perfunctory. Despite our repeated requests that we wanted to eat at a slow pace, they would not honor our wishes. The baked egg was decent, the bigoli was v. disappointing. I know that by its very nature (anchovies, capers) this is a salty dish - but this was like eating a salt... More

Very cosy place with it's own character. We tried the fish tasting menu -7 courses- and we expected to have a wine tasting associated but it was not available and not possible to have, we went for one very good bottle then. The food was overall good but not to the level you would expect in a one star restaurant;... More

The restaurant has a great charm, it's not your typical starred restaurant but interior-wise has a great personality. Hence you would expect something personal and surprising from the menu, too, but here comes the puzzle. We had two antipasti, one tartare e their "signature" egg with truffle. While the latter was an interesting experience (but lacking in truffle), the first... More

"Strange" is the single word I was going to use to sum up our experience there, and I just noticed its use in a previous review also. I am sticking to it because it is hard to describe it in any other way. In fact, two stars in my rating may be a little kind but I am giving it... More

What a strange establishment. Crammed to the gunnels with kitsch bits of tat and Murano glass, unmatched chairs, crockery and glasses, with a snaking layout of tables and kitchen. And to boot a Michelin star. This place could be a quirky gem, a defiant culinary John Soanes museum amongst the trad Tratts that do it so well in this attractive... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant without knowing that it was a one star Michelin. The interior looked as entering the tomb of Tut-Anch-Amun, with antiques spread all over the place. After a long travel, we arrived late and where in need of a decent meal.We had no expectations, but what a surprise!!! IT was the most delicious, most creative meal ever!... More
