Fabulous place, the best meal of our 5 day trip to Sicily and that is saying something! Unassuming but great attention to quality and construction of dishes, and attentive but not over fussy staff. It was our 30th wedding anniversary the night we visited and...it was a meal to remember. Thank youMore

Restaurant with a great wine list. Delicious carpaccio (probably the best we had in Catania), very good pasta with truffles. Average swordfish (too dry - maybe only this time). Professional and very friendly service, overall a very nice dinner. We recommend.

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for his birthday dinner. I had already visited the one in San Giovanni La Punta years ago and always considered it to have the best involtini di pesce spada I'd ever tasted. This new experience of the...restaurant in Catania did not disappoint! Not only does it have a fabulous menu, the food is exceptional and the service was absolutely wonderful. They even put a little candle on my boyfriend's dessert as they knew it was his special day! One of the very best restaurants in Catania. Thank you to all the staff there for giving us a very special evening.More

In this restaurant you can experience a wonderful mixture of creativity and sicilian tradition. Every dish glorifies the genuine taste of natural ingredients, as in the excellent artichoke risotto. Moreover, the menu is so rich and various, the "degustazioni" (tasting) of starters and fishes are...my warm recommendation. Last but not least, outstanding choice of refined wines.More

I haven't read all the previous reviews and will probably reiterate many of them. This restaurant is an absolute gem and dining there is a pleasurable experience in every way. We went there on our last evening in Sicily, without reservation. The restaurant is located...in a villa and except for a small sign bearing its name, you wouldn't guess it's there. In other words, the place doesn't need to advertise because it is neither commercial nor in desperate need to attract guests. It obviously has a loyal clientele and although it was full, we were welcomed without hesitation and given a table of 6 for the four of us. The service is impeccable, efficient and highly professional. I believe the owner, a gentle and refined gentleman in perhaps his late 60's, spoke perfect English and was attending to all the guests and making sure they were being served. From the way he was greeting them, he obviously knew most of the guests personally and had our stay in the area been longer, we would have likely enjoyed a similar personal experience after repeat visits! As for the food, describing it as divine is almost an understatement. The "La Sicilia e il Tonno" starter is out of this world and so refined. It's made from local fresh tuna and you can immediately tell. My "Originali tagliatelle di Lampedusa" was the tastiest and freshest seafood pasta I ever enjoyed, knowing that I've never had anything even remotely close to it before! As for the desserts, our Sicilian cannoli and cassatina were just heavenly. My only regret is having saved this best for last. In hindsight, we should have dined there on at least 2 more occasions during our 5-day stay in the area and tried some of the other temptations on the menu.More

What’s not to like at this wonderful restaurant. We had read many reviews before selection it as the only restaurant at which we would be able to enjoy dinner. It did not disappoint. Both food and service were exceptional. Even had the opportunity to talk...with the owner for awhile. Snapper in potatoe crust, a fantastic raw seafood platter- perhaps the best we experienced in Sicily. Pasta with swordfish bites and clams. Grilled seafood platter. An excellent wine list. A totally amazing experience. Not to be missed in Catania.More

First and foremost - let me state that the staff and management were superb: very attentive to detail and accommodative to all wants/needs. The restaurant is a quaint and lovely place, with an antique appearance and dim lightning, tucked into a nook near the heart...of Catania. As for the food itself, I'll keep this short and sweet - I've been to many restaurants throughout Italy (and the world), and can convincingly say that this is simply the best food I've ever tasted. Each dish manages to capture and distill the essence of Sicily, transmitting centuries of culture through small bites of food. The options are plentiful, and there are enough to suite all palettes, but each dish is clearly given the same level attention and care. If you are seeking the purest definition of "Sicilian food" and looking for the best that the region has to offer, you must try Giardino di Bacco.More

I walked from my hotel there expecting to get a table. When I got there the lady asked me if I had a reservation; because, there weren’t any tables available. I said I would wait, but they kept me waiting. While I was waiting I...browse thru the menu and there isn’t anything there vegetarian it all was a sea food menu. I got tired of waiting so I left. I guess I wasn’t welcomed because of my appearance.More
