This lovely place was the setting for two great meals in Catania - absolutely delightful room with antique lace billowing out from the chandelier. The seafood here was spectacularly well-prepared, with just enough pepper to give it a slight kick. The homemade pasta is heavenly - somehow light and airy (and the portions are huge). The appetizers are beautifully presented... More

On bus trip I had the chance to taste this restaurant twice. First time was better. What I've really appreciated is the menu: it change according to the season and this allow you to taste foods and local ingredients with the sicilia flavor. Very genuine and natural. This is the place for natural slow food emotion. In my opinion there... More

The restaurant playfully shortens its name to let you know McDonalds is not really what they are all about. I fond the service more then fine and the food was absolutely wonderful for a true foodie ! It is not fancy or slick but very real and well worth the effort of finding them when you are in Catania !

The only very minor negative was that we would have preferred it to be less brightly lit, it's far from unbearable but with more ambient lighting this place would be perfect. The service was exceptional, the food and wine wonderful. From the variety of homemade bread buns served with olives whilst we ordered to the donkey and beef fillet main... More

Food was great. Typical products including home made bread with dried tomatoes and olives, beef carpaccio, grilled squid and calamari, Pasta with pesto al pistacchio, honey caramelized pork rib. All TOP quality dishes! Only problem was the SLOW service. It took us 40 minutes to manage to take our orders to the waiter. Although the restaurant was very full the... More

We really enjoyed it! Typical Sicilian dishes and great attention to high quality ingredients. We wish we were staying in Catania more nights so as to be able to go back!

The restaurant had good references in the Michelin Guide and in Tripadvisor so we decided to have dinner there . The staff is really nice and although we didn´t have a reservation they got us a table . The starters and the main course were good (but nothing more than that)! We asked for a wine( that we knew was... More

It's a small restaurant with specialist 'slow food'. Food was good - worth trying the donkey dishes - and the house wines (white and red) were both good. And the Timili beer is also worth trying. Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. One drawback is that its location on a main road means that all the tables are... More

With a Bib Gourmand and descent reviews from trip advisor I had expectations to this slow food place, but I was disappointed. The fish carpaccio was over salted and uneven cut, some pieces way to thick. I think carpaccio (meat or fish) needs to be cut like Jamon Iberico, small, thin pieces, otherwise it is not very delicate. It was... More

As my kids and I are wont to do, we drove into Catania and started Googling for "best restaurant in Catania" on our iPhones. It's fun to make discoveries -- and this counts as one of them. We found the description of Me Cumpari Turiddu intriguing, not least because Cavalleria rusticana is one of my favorite operas (fortunately, in this... More
