Good shrimp with fennel salad. The fish soup was not as flavorful as it should have been. Do not order a glass of wine as they are less than generous when pouring a glass. Better to order the bottle.

Dear Mona, thank you for taking time to review our restaurant so positively. Our vegetable soup changes quite often, depending on seasonal produce. You had broccoli and caramelized onion soup, which is usually very well received by our guests. So I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find it fully satisfying. With regard to wine: in Italy and France the... More

Really enjoyed this, lovely atmosphere and lovely food. The owner is also very attentive. We had the verdure soup and squid starters, and squid ink pasta and prawns mains. The cheese course was also lovely, with some of the strongest cheese I've ever had! I really recommend this restaurant.

Very good food (it's the most important!), generous wine menu with organic and regular wines all from Sicilia, very friendly service, and recommandable advice if needed.

Dear Eyeflex Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant and your experience with us. Local food (from our seas and lands) as well as in season and rigorously daily fresh are the key factors of our philosophy. And then the many organic Sicilian wines complete the gastronomic experience with Dioniso. Hope to see you back soon! More

Just had a wonderful meal at the Dioniso. Saw it as we walked around earlier this evening and reserved a table. It exceeded our expectations; warm, friendly service and great food. We shared the squid to start; which was moreish, followed by fish soup and pork. Both beautifully cooked. We had sweets of pistachio pudding and orange ricotta pudding. Amazing... More

The food was great! I would recommend the black squid ink pasta it was delicious. The restaurant is in a little alley and it's very remote making it a small cozy little place. There are very interesting decoration pieces and helps to give off a good mood.

This delightful place was only steps from our hotel on the Ortigia waterfront, but we would have traveled much farther to have a dining experience of this quality. Surprisingly, there are some other, seemingly more ordinary, restaurants nearby, and they had more patrons, perhaps because they were on the main road. Dioniso is tucked away in a charming alley just... More

We stumbled on to this little tucked away bistro and wine bar, where we had a very nice dinner accompanied by lovely wines. We started with a tender and flavorable Calamaro (squid sliced linguini style) and a Pappardelle with Seafood Ragu which was delicious. The main course of Beef Stew was just ok, but perhaps we ordered wrong in this... More

Dear David, Thank you for your kind review. We really appreciate and are happy that you enjoyed your evening with us. Hope to see you back soon again. However, "Papardelle with Seafood Ragu" is not on our menu, perhaps you meant "Spaghetti al nero di seppia" (Spaghetti with black ink squid). A presto. More

We sent two of our daughters to Chef Torrisi's cooking class. He was a wonderful teacher and so very kind to my girls. He took them shopping at the local market and then they made a delicious lunch in his restaurant. We went back the next day for lunch and Lele made us a very special meal. He is a... More

The place is nice, the staff extremely kind and caring, good wine list, however the food is just ok and a bit overpriced for what you get. Lovely place, but food-wise there are much better restaurants in Ortigia.

Thank Gandolfa

Nestled in one of the alleys of Ortigia, a small charming restaurant, with attention to every detail: From the choice of the raw ingredients to the warm welcome. From a polite, attentive service to the lights and background music.

The kitchen offers local dishes with some culinary provocation that reinterprets the tradition.

We have chosen to propose a short menu in order to ensure quality and freshness of the product and it varies continuously according to the offer of the market and the seasons.

Raw material of excellence, fish exclusively from the Mediterranean and in a series of sought and exclusively seasonal dishes.

The wine cellar offers mainly autochthonous wines and vines, giving preference to organic wines of Sicilian wineries of excellence.

Finally, delicate desserts all home made: The ricotta mousse with orange and cinnamon fragrances, the pistachio flan and other delights of the house.

Dine with us and treat yourself with the pleasure of discovering a contemporary, classic Sicilian cuisine.
