Popped in here for a very late lunch (14.30). As such we were the only ones in the restaurant. I had the best risotto of my trip (prawns, scampi and lemon zest). My wife had fresh tomato soup which whilst was a generous helping, was too expensive for 8 Euros. Service was OK but we felt slightly that the waiter... More

I had lunch here today. I decided on the "piatto di giorno" consisting of a mix of potatoes, vegetables and swordfish. Bad choice! The food was so over cooked that I reckon it must have been the daily special for the past three days which was reheated. Utterly tasteless. I ordered a glass of local white wine which was lovely.... It may be unwise to make such a proclamation when we have 5 days (potentially 10 meals) to have more pizza, but all of us enjoyed our experience at Caravaggio so much, I think it's worth the risk. On a side street, not far from piazza Archemides, but a little hidden away, is Carvaggio -- primarily a pizza restaurant but... More

We had a nice dinner in this cosy place. Food is tasty, and pizza is a real delight! Our 4year old has enjoyed drawing corner very much.

Very good pizza with a great price and also different kinds, like the one with potatoes! Amazing! We really recommend this pizzeria to everyone!

This large, clean and well-run restaurant provides reliable pizzas of many kinds, amongst other choices on the menu. The owner is on hand to ensure that you are greeted cordially and served promptly. Siracusan restaurants are not famous for their pizzas (understandably), but Caravaggio does a good job, is considerably above average on all counts and is well worth a... More

Pizza has been the food substance of choice this week, given that the Italian arrangement of two or three courses works out rather pricy in most places. A pizza is very filling and simple to order. We dropped by Caravaggio's in the centre of Syracuse and ordered a couple of pizzas and a bottle of wine. All was good if... More

Near our hotel, this place was recommended for pies and it didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the Margherita and the sausage and mushroom pies, thin crust, Euro/Italo tomato sauce, slightly salty mozzarella. The house Nero d'avola also very tasty. Full bar. Nice neighborhood kind of place: kids with Halloween face paint out with Mom, other locals and a few Italian and... More

We arrived in Syracusa early afternoon. The hotel recommended street food at the local market but we were put off by the flies (in fact, I was eaten alive in Syracusa and ended up on antibiotics once home). We couldn't find anywhere open but stumbled across this pizzeria in a side street. The staff were very helpful and the food... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant our first night in Ortigia, and loved it so much we went back 5 times during the ten days we were there including taking a group of 14 friends there. The pizzas are great and there are three pages of choices. We also enjoyed the chicken and the seabass. The house wine was very reasonable... More

Description
Pizzeria Restaurant Caravaggio is located in the heart of the historical center of Ortigia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by historical sites, it is an example of the great legacies of the past. Walking through the streets of the historic center, take a dip in the atmosphere of the past, feel the breath of the great history of eras and peoples who once lived and now live here. Yes, we are not on a busy street with windows and seductive advertising. But if you turn from Corso Mateotti, and there, at the corner of via Mirabella and via Dione, is a good place where you can enjoy the delights of the local cuisine in an atmosphere of tranquility, comfort and kindness. We have all the capabilities to service the tourist groups up to 60 people. To do this, we have developed several tourist menu with the price range of 15 to 30 euros, which includes antipasti, first, second, dessert and drinks.
