Was here in 2008 and still remember the incredible salt baked fish, filleted at the table. One of the best meals I have ever had. The cannoli was also of the best I've experienced in Sicily. We still talk about this restaurant, years later.

Although it may seem like a tourist trap from outside (menu on the street with pictures, several languages), it turned out to be a very pleasant surprised with unexpectedly good food. I went there for lunch just because it did not seem busy (just 1 couple) and ordered grilled sword fish. The only place in Taormina where they brought bread,... More

Ristorante Anfora is located on an alley stairway off Corso Umberto with enough people walking by to people watch without feeling like you are in a fish bowl. Speaking of seafood I ordered the salted sea bream. It was brought to our table whole and the maitre de/chef/owner (not certain) filleted the fish using only a spoon. What an interesting... More

A great little restaurant of Corso Umberto, specialising in seafood. Pepe (Giuseppe) was an enthsiatic waiter and busily made sure we physically witnessed the fresh selection of seafood. From the seabreem to the marinara, it was all 'buonissimo'. A must if you are in Taormina.

Came across the Anfora by chance on our first evening, and returned three times during the week. Nerino is the owner and a genuine host; always willing to offer suggestions from his selection of fresh fish and not averse to offering the odd complimentary aperitif or dessert wine! The pasta with seafood was to be relished. The sea bream baked... More

Although the serving size was plentiful, the food was bland and stodgy. Hint of microwave perhaps. Disappointing

We happened upon this quaint restaurant while walking through Taormina...and, we were so glad we did! The owner Nerino, a lovely man, told us of his offerings from the sea. Every part of the dinner was delicious. He made the dinner very special, giving us his attention and informative suggestions. The wine was perfect and this was the perfect place... More

We visited Sicily last, about three years ago and were so impressed by Nerino and his food that we ate there twice then. This trip we only had time to visit once and as before followed his recommendation - the fish baked in salt and once again it was absolutely delicious. We finished the meal with some little assorted cannoli... More

We were walking through Corso Umberto & we were, what can only be described as accosted by Sebastian. He spent so much time explaining what he had on the menu, I felt obliged to go up to the restaurant which was off the main street. The restaurant is very small & almost feels like you are eating in someones home... More
