We were staying at a villa in Pergo and the property manager recommended La Tufa. His mom works there making the pizza's. Big mistake! We never ended up ordering a pizza there, and they looked awesome and according to a few other diners, they were delicious! I was a mission to find Ribolita soup which they had there. It was... We had lunch on the terrace of la tufa. The views from the terrace are great the terrace itself isn't inviting at all, it lacks atmosphere. The pizza was very tasty (not the best you can get in this area), the waiters were friendly and prices are very reasonable. I do recommend this place.

The ambiance at La Tufa is great and the terrace is wonderful for the sunset. Both traditional and popular Italian food is served to a high standard. It is a very popular restaurant with tourists and great for families.

This place is wonderful. Food was fresh and delicious, wine was outstanding, and prices reasonable. Yes service was a bit slow, but it's vacation time in Italy for gosh sakes! Rustic simple fresh food that you can't beat.

Long night on the aircraft, delays getting our car, got lost on the last leg of the drive to our villa: Not the best of days. This was the closest place to us for dinner so we chanced it on a busy Saturday evening. Loaded with locals, all of whom had made reservations, but they found the four of us... More

This is a great place, a huge old cellar, very busy and full. We had excellent good value pizza. Unlike the tourist restaurants in Cortona this place is catering to the local community - on the main drag a shopping hangar estate but on the back road, which it is on, a modest village. There is a big balcony to... More

For the price you pay, the food is ok (not good). But the service was the worst we have had during our Tuscany trip. Total chaos, not interested in customer's well being. Bringing the wrong food (not only to our table). We even thought this was some kind of candid camera set up. Unbelievable that this business survives and even... More

We were so astonished by its location but we're deeply disappointed with the experience we had eating there. The terrace is amazing but the way they stuck table in, sure is terrible, there is barely space to move around. We arrived at 21:00 on Tuesday, by the time we were seated it took about 25 minutes for the waiting staff... More

The people here were most friendly, we had both pasta and pizza. My favorite was the sausage pizza. Typical Italian Pizza place.

10 minutes outside of Cortona, find La Tufa for the real deal Tuscan Osteria. A lot more inside than the small front doorway reveals. The one horse town of Ossaia provided a friendly, English speaking, family atmosphere with the best pizza we had in Italy. Prices are 20% below Cortona's and parking will likely never be an issue with a... More
