Not high end prices, and great, great food! We heard about this place and went for lunch. It is. Very, popular place, without reservations so you can wait a bit. But it is so worth it! Penne with peas In a red sause- yes! The sandwiches are to die for too, as are the salads and vegetable plates. Don't miss out... More

We really enjoyed this small osteria on our visit to firenze. It is quiet small and vibrant place, obviously always full since all the locals go there to get their lunch. The place is run by 4 really nice ladies who make you feel like eating at home from your mamma 's kitchen. Would definitely recommend trying their tiramisu, the... More

Make reservations. Small, family restaurant. Try the tripe. Delicious! We had a wonderful meal among the locals. Treated like family. Cash only. Loved it and will return on next trip to Firenze.

We were on our way to another restaurant in the area when we saw that this one was really lively compared to the other restaurants in the area. We noticed that local people were eating there so we decided to stop. Taglietelle with truffe and gnocchi with gorgonzola were super delicious. Service was fast and waiters were polite. We like... Despite the fact of being rush hour during lunchtime the people of this restaurant did not even think of receiving us in a friendly way. Glasses were smashed on the table like the menu's. No smile, no ''here you go'', nothing. The most horrible thing was while we were checking the menu (which is old, dirty and sticky) we saw... More

Fast paced place, mainly locals who come in for lunch. Seemingly simple dishes, but really tasty and great value for money. Try the typical Florentine lampredotto!

I took note of this place prior to my trip to Florence and was pleasantly surprised when our private tour guide recommended this restaurant. Four women run this restaurant in amazing precision. They cook in the open in the front of the restaurant so you can see everything that is going on! We all had pasta dishes every one equally... More

Get the Lampredotto (tripe), it is amazing!!! This place is very small so may have to wait, but worth the wait, caution: google maps/TripAdvisor map has this place in the wrong place, ask around for directions as the place is very small, can be hard to find, but worth the hunt!! Best place to eat in Florence !!!!! ( and... More

Family run business, centrally located but not very easy to spot as it is hidden in an alleyway. If you pass by, you won't be impressed as the place looks rather small and tired. I went in to book a table for dinner. Saturday is the only day that they open at night. We sat in a long wooden table... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
