Good food, good prices, great location especially if staying near Brunelleschi's duomo in Florence. Had 2 yummy pasta dishes :) then could walk around afterwards & see the sights!

Zio Gigi (uncle Gigi) is another simple, tiny little place on a back street. The menu consists of all the usual suspects, antipasti, pasta, meat dishes, including the famous Florentine steak. Steak with balsamic vinegar sauce sounds odd, but is delicious. The antipasto plate is...More
We first visited Zio Gigi seven years ago. So, while in Florence again, we decided to find it. No trouble locating it as it sits just behind the Dumo. The atmosphere is as we remembered it - close tables and fun to dine. The owner's...More
Zio Gigi was recommended by a friend from Lucca. What a wonderful recommendation. Zio Gigi is a very authentic, family run trattoria. The plentiful food was delicious. For only 10Euro, one has several secondi and primi piatti from which to choose. Our server was attentive...More
our hotel recommended this restaurant and we loved it so much that we ate there twice! The food was so good, but the service and singing made us return! Such a fun restaurant and we were the only tourists there....a plus!
Solid family style restaurant where a lot of locals eat judging the crowd. Extensive selection of pastas, seafood & grilled meat. Every thing we tried was good. Especially enjoyed the seafood salad and have certainly paid more for less. No ravioli or lasagna but lots...More
Our friend had been to Zio Gigi several times before and said the filets were excellent and we wanted something different than pasta. All three of us had filets; one with green pepper sauce, another with balsamic, and the third with bone-in Florentine style. All...More
I found Zio Gigi through TripAdvisor and the reviews were spot on! I was in a party of four and as soon as we stepped in the door we were made to feel exceptionally welcome (not always the norm in Florence restaurants) The food on...More
We ate at Zio Gigi on two of our four recent nights in Florence. If we'd known about it earlier we'd have been there on all four nights. The food, service and entertainment were all superb. Bistecca is an absolute must. Loved it!!!
