My husband found this restaurant on the first night of our wedding anniversary trip to Florence. We were so pleased we did! We had been awake since 6am and travelling the majority of the day and were really hungry by the time we arrived at our apartment in Piazza Pitti. We were tired and didn't want to go far and... A good stoping point to rest and get a good lunch. A small cafe right across the Pitti Square with tables both inside and outside. Try the truffle menu since they have a separate page for it. Friendly staff but average service. Nice place

Lunched there with 3 friends and we all shared the opinion that it the food and service is just fine. Especially because of the touristic location we were very surprised by the quality and price. Nice place to go to.

My friends and I chose this place because of its proximity to the Pitti Palace. By mid-meal, we were all eager to leave and find another restaurant for lunch. The pasta was overcooked (what restaurant in ITALY serves mushy pasta??), all the dishes were terribly salty, and the octopus had a pungent fishy smell, indicating it was not fresh. Maybe... More

We ended up in this restaurant, while we were actually planning to go somewhere else. Staff is very friendly, helpful, explains dishes and speaks English. The atmosphere is the restaurant is nice, and quality of the food is okay, not really special. Prices are unfortunately a bit on the high side. Price-quality is therefore the reason to give a rating... More

Located right across from the Palazzo Pitti, the Caffe Pitti is a great choice for lunch either before or after your tour through the Palazzo and the associated Boboli Gardens. The food is good with the caprese salad a superb choice with large ripe tomato slices and excellent mozzarella cheese. Decent menu choices and the service is fair. Not the... More

I don't expect to see staff talking about other customers and probably should have taken that as a sign before I ordered food and just left. Food was average and as we only wanted something simple, I suppose the looks of distain can only be expected. I imagine as I never left a tip, we were probably talked about too... More

Good but not great food or service. Had spaghetti that was ok but nothing better than I have ever made at home. It is on a street with frequent motor, bicycle, and foot traffic as well which was not overly pleasant either.

Thank Bridget D

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
