I'm am a professional tour operator for 17 years in italy. I eat here regularly. It's true Tuscan and the owner Margherita and her staff are dedicated to providing super high quality Tuscan food and wine. The real proof is all of the local business and shop owners eat here as well. Brava!

This restaurant was recommended to me by my Italian teacher. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to eat at Il Barrino during my stay in Florence in April. It is a Cody and not fancy restaurant. Four of us went there and decided to try as much as we could buy sharing our orders family style. We... More

Waited 1 hr 10 mins before we received any food, waitress very truculent when asked why there was a delay. Other staff good trying to make amends, but evening somewhat spoilt. Food when it eventually arrived was good.

We started with the celery soup with croutons. When the croutons were added, the soup became pudding and we almost couldn't choke it down. The steak for 2 was very expensive and a very poor showing. It was tough and not flavorful at all. They give you large knives to cut the steak and you certainly need them. They barely... More

Our table of four ordered a pasta dish each to start with. These were quite bland, especially the fisherman's spaghetti which consisted of about six very, very small clams, with spaghetti. I didn't see or taste any herbs or seasoning. The four small pasta dishes came to €54, so not cheap. The mains were ok but nothing to write home... More

Il Barrino was recommended to us by our one of our tour guides. The authentic Italian food was exceptional and the atmosphere quite charming.

Just enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Il Barrino. We had "the Best Fish in Town" and linguini with clams. Both were delicious....price was more than reasonable - €18 for fish which was designed to be shared by two people! Can't comment on their wine collection as we do. It drink. Friendly service but we had to request bread plate and... More

Food was OK, very good wine. In all a bit more expensive than deserved compared to other restaurants. Try real trattoria around.

We found this restaurant by chance when looking for a place to have dinner that was not too far from the hotel. We did not regret going in. We were fairly late and it was not very busy anymore, but we could still eat. Not a problem at all. We had a very good three-course dinner. Service was most friendly... More
