Family run, small and cosy restaurant with delicious Italian food. I will definitely be back soon, this time with my family.

We stumble upon this place and had an amazing time at 10:30 pm, afamily owned restaurant with two young helpers who are the owner's children (i guess). I had no idea what the dishes were on the menu but the very well mannered brother/ host/ waiter explained everything to us. The sparkling wine was very good. The appetizer was amazing,... More

Our hotel did not have an attached restaurant so we ate around the corner at Lo Stravagante. It is privately owned and the owner does all his own cooking. He can cook. The food was delicious and he treated us like we were kings. We had the T-bone steak done to perfection. We had liquor and wine chilled and served... More

Tucked away on Via Boccaccio near the Le Cure Farmer's Market this charming restaurant with an equally charming owner was a nice respite from the Centro Storico. The menu is sophisticated yet not fussy. With the owner's encouragement we tried new dishes and had wonderful evening. .Buon Appettito! !

We stayed in Firenze for a week and dined at the Ristorante Lo Stravagante twice. It is a family owned restaurant with husband as chef and wife as hostess/waitress. Their young daughter always had a smile. They were very accommodating and the food was delicious. We were also provided with complimentary extras which was a nice touch. I would highly... More

A lovely find under evey aspect. Not only was the service very warm and with attention to details also towards our children, in a simple but tastefully decorated setting, but we found the food truly delicious. Loved the huge bistecca alla fiorentina, crispy country potatoes and salad. Our daughter declared her chocolate lava cake with English custard as 'best dessert... More

I organised a dinner with colleagues and friends. We were 19 people and total and each had an amazing four course menu incl. wine and water for 25,- EUR p.P. When you organise group events here you can choose from either a Terra (meat), Mare (fish and seafood) or vegetarian menu. Especially the tagliata was grand and the dessert too!

A lovely restaurant in a quiet neighborhood of Florence. The food is really delicious, inventive while also calling on traditional Italian cooking. Customers are a mix of tourists and locals. The pappardelle with cinghiale was so good. There is a very personal touch to this place, and the chef was in and out of the kitchen, also recommended a wine... More

I selected this restaurant looking to tripadvisor. Most of the reviews were really excellent so I had pretty high expectations. The environment is pretty basic, not really exciting but not bad. I ordered Tanduri shrimps and Gallinella with clams while my wife had cuttlefish as entree and pasta with fresh tuna as main course. We both also had a dessert,... More

Description
“Stravagante” is a word from Latin origins, composed of extra (outside) and vagantem (wandering). In the figurative sense it takes on the significance of fantastic, unusual, and also whimsical. It is precisely with this spirit that we would like to present you our menu, using the best ingredients in a manner outside of the ordinary.Ristorante Lo Stravagante brings the creative cuisine of Carmine Mastroianni to Florence. We are pleased to invite you to try this great destination for lovers of creative cuisine. Lo Stravagante combines the best culinary tradition with fresh ingredients chosen to enhance the flavor and prepare your palate to experience the extraordinary. Our creations combine the raw materials typical of the area (trying to respect the principle of locally sourced products) for fish and for meant with sophisticated and high quality ingredients. We pay particular attention to those who prefer a vegetarian menu, with imaginative dishes of high nutritional value.
