Sometimes you are just drawn to a historic "hole in the wall" restaurant filled with years of tradition . A little tired but that was part of the appeal just far enough away from the tourist traps . Pizza was good and we enjoyed our wine ..... as we recharged from a morning of walking

TERRIBLE and UNSANITARY! My husband got food poisoning from the Carbonara, and my salmon was so overcooked it tasted like a thin overcooked porkchop. Please save your self and DO NOT GO HERE!

When me and my boyfriend were there, we first got very hard old bread, what might be from the day before. When I ordered shrimps for 17 euro, I got 5 shrimps on one leaf with a slice of lemon. The shrimps were full of sand. My boyfriend's pizza was obviously a pizza bought from the supermarket. Not fresh at... More

Most horrible restaurant I've eaten in a long time. I had a pizza that came from the supermarket. My girlfriend had shrimps which weren't cleaned properly because they contained a lot of sand. The bread was old as well.. And when we told the staff, they didn't do anything about it.

This place is definitely not the pride of Italy ... The pizza was from frozen dough, burnt, tasted like fried on the pan with the old grease. The risotto was awful as well. Reviews from Tripadvisor should be mandatory pinned before entering any restaurant ...

I visited this place once and the food was not that great. Although the service was very good, nice staff.

Having been pleased with other Trattorias in the area we thought we would give this a go, at the back entrance it looks like a nice quiet place but then when you walk through to the outside seated area its just off the Duomo square, the boss wanted us to sit outside i suspect to attract others. Young waitress very... More

This place should be a national embarrassment. We were literally served a frozen pizza. You know, where all the ingredients are chopped to the same size by the industrial processor. Easily the worst meal I have had in Italy. Wish I had access to the Internet before my friends and I walked into this place

I went here because I had heard over and over how the bistecca was so good. Okay, it was half the price of I Latini BUT it was 1/2 the thickness, it was tough and it was pink. I sawed and sawed, chewed and chewed, ate a small portion and gave the rest to the local beggar and his dog.... More

Located just off the Piazza del Capitolo (Duomo) - south side, between the front of the Duomo and Giotto's Tower. Excellent menu selection with the best pesto and best bolognese we have ever tasted. Very reasonably priced (we ate there at lunch time) and very good service.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
