How do you end up in a German restaurant eating pizza while in Italy? You let your friends who live in Italy pick the restaurant. Go where the locals go and you will not be disappointed!! Nice food (pizzas) and selection of beers in a quiet street. Helpful English speaking personnel that mainly serves locals (a good thing to notice when avoiding the most touristic bar-restaurants)

Because we have enjoyed Italian food for several months straight, we were looking for something different tonight. We both have German heritage, and found a German restaurant run by Italians in Firenze. Yes, we hear the gasps from purists & our Italian friends. Primarily a non touristic place, you will find a great selection of German and Italian beers here. The real drawcard for me however, was being able to purchase a 1 litre stein of German Bock beer, which was really nice, and a great novelty!
