Food is absolutely delicious. I looked forward to revisiting this place after my first bite of the pappardelle al cinghiale. We came back again the next day for the same dish, pici all'aglione and florentine T-bone steak. I truthfully wish I can come back the third time! Everyone who worked there is very friendly and offering, making this the most... More

This was a highly rated restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Perhaps the best Lasagna during our trip to Italy. And, its fairly reasonable too.

Small place on a side street, almost an alley. We ate here two nights. Couple the 1st. We thought so highly of it, we brought 6 friends for dinner the next night. Seating both upstairs and down. Small, so reservations are highly recommended. Nice selection of food. Pasta is obviously freshly prepared. Good portions. Everything was attractively presented. We really... More

We found our way to this restaurant after realizing the place we wanted to go was booked solid... bummer. But we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is super cute and we were sat in the upstairs section. The tables weren't overly crowded next to each other and the wall decor was entertaining. Our server was very nice and treated us with... More

We just arrived into Florence after a long day and am so glad TripAdvisor guided us to this low-key gem. The staff was all friendly and we instantly felt welcomed in the homey and playful environment. Our server was patient about answering questions and very attentive throughout the meal. I started with the zucchini flan in fondue and it was... More

Great night with friends. All of the food was delicious and affordable. Appetizers, main course, desserts and the house red wine came to no more than 25 Euros per person. The host and staff were very friendly, and they offered us complimentary Limoncello cordials after our meals. Full confession, we even went back a second time just 3 nights later.... More

This Resturant was recommended to us by some friends of our son. It's a wonderfully tiny place with 11 or so tables only and the food was fabulous and worth a stop. If I ever get back to Florence I will eat here again. I can't remember everything we had but the Traditional Florence Beef Stew was one of the... More

Our first night and very glad we went. Small, easy to find place. Nice ambiance and decor. The Spicy spaghetti was fabulous, The ossobuco was tender, tasty and well prepared. The host/waiter was attentive and the noise was not too loud. We were offered lemoncella at the end and it was quite welcome. A wonderful place and highly recommended.

Was fighting with my girlfriend and then walked into this gem. Girlfriend is super happy and so am I. I had the osso bucco, and she had the ravioli. Fantastic!!! Probably the best osso bucco I have had. Nice big marrow bone also. Yum. Great service also. If you are in Florence you should go. A couple next to us... More

This is a family run restaurant off the beaten track and frequented by locals. We were seated for lunch on the ground floor which has but a few tables as the rest is upstairs. This gave us the opportunity to observe both the gathering of the older men as well a young child with mom making their visits. The result... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
