I visited here twice during our three days here, and found the cinghiale umido or boar stew to be excellent and filling. I recommend it highly. I had also heard that Lucca was known for its grilled meats, so tried the steak today. I'm afraid it was loaded with fat and gristle, so that was disappointing. The staff is friendly... More

Stopped here for dinner as we had been wandering round the shops. My husband had pasta with wild boar and I had a tuna and onion pizza; both were very good. The service was quick and the staff were pleasant. Would be happy to eat there again.

This restaurant is the one on Via Cenami n. 13. Visited for dinner at 9.30pm. Looks nice, waitress seemed happy. Male waiter was awful. Ordered ravioli, came overcooked, sent it back, 'fresh' ravioli served but overcooked. Tagliatelle not hot, not fresh pasta. Would doubt freshness. Food very salty. Sad side salad - lettuce limp and bruised. Charged €4 for bread... More

After seeing the nightly opera performance in Lucca, my husband and I went in search of a restaurant for dinner. To our surprise, each place we stopped was full with reservations! I don't know if it was that particular night (Saturday) or if this is to be expected, but we kept wandering. We eventually found an opening at L'Oste di... More

My wife and I had a late night dinner reservation and were looking forward to a nice romantic night out. We had not been here before, but had high hopes. The restaurant is in an ancient stone basement. It is beautiful. The outside terrace is also quite nice, and off of the main street, so you can have some quiet... More

We selected this Resturant as it looked attractive and is on the main thoroughafayre. The welcome was luke warm. It seemed more like a get bums on seats than a genuine welcome. The waiter wanted to rush our meal selection to the extent of repeatedly making a selection for us. Even when we selected our choice of meal the waiter... More

We walked past this twice. And it looked OK. So we stopped in for an early dinner. Inside is quaint with tight tables, and yellow walls. We ordered for our kids, one gnocchi and one macaroni, plain just with butter and Parmesan. What arrived was gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce and macaroni with Pilz, just like off the menu. We explained... More

Hidden in a little side street near the Basilica of San Martino this restaurant provides excellent steaks and fresh pasta as well as lovely homemade desserts. They also make their own olive oil and local wines so a real treat! Definitely recommend a visit.

The best part about our meal was it was open before noon and we were hungry. The worst part was the food. It was very bland and tasteless. Service was careless. I would go somewhere else.

As this restaurant was reasonably quiet, we decided to pop in for lunch. Saw the T bone steak and asked for that. What came along was half a cow, (Florentina Chianina) well not quite but it was a huge piece of meat on a hot stone which slowly cooked the meat to your liking. A little too much for lunch... More
