This was an impromptu stop as we were literally walking past and restaurant inside looked quite inviting, with warm lighting and looked like the interior had been carved out of the local rock. Front of house seemed to be managed by a couple, both of whom were efficient but with no genuine warmth, and did not go out of their... More

Quirky and great food. Portion on starter was a bit big but the place was very cool with good everything and everyone seemed a local which for me is a bonus. Authentic... loved it

The service provided was good. The food I ordered was also very good, but my other half found his dish so-so. The ambient was great and the decor was just like the same suggests, a cavelike atmosphere that was very beautiful. Not a lot of choices on the menu, but their dishes were creative.

We loved the restaurant. It's ambiance was cozy and rustic and the menu though somewhat limited was authentic and not the least bit touristy. We stated with paccheri with octopus ragu, and the spelt and walnut ravioli w walnut pesto and both were fantastic. My husband had rabbit with sausage and September figs and I had cod fish with olives... More

We went there for lunch with 3 kids. Good place with a small terrace. Ingredients were fresh and good quality and they propose a very good local birra "the bat". The water is free which is highly appreciated.

It was recommended by our host in Pisa. We stayed in Pisa for a week and went there several times. We ate almost everything in the menu and everything was worth it. I will always recommend the black taglioni and the sliced beef. The prices are ok for what they offer. I would come back anytime.

Locals place rather than catering for the hordes of tourists on their way to the Leaning Tower, which is not that far away in this little city. Go here instead I had the octopus soup starter - it was more octopus than soup. Soup you eat with a fork, a first for me. It's a thick tomato soup filled with... More

Nice food options, good wine options. Waiter very polite and helpfull. The portions are served individually, very tastefull, we were a group of four people and everybody really enjoyed the experience. The walls and roof have a special appearence the really looks like a cave.

I start from then. The owner of the restaurant sitting with us telling us the history of the restaurant, the grotto decoration and the different management of the restaurant over the past decades. Dinner was fabulous. The food is rich of flavours without being overwhelming. I had the special pasta pici della casa with the lardo colonnata and a wonderful... More
