I had ribbolita at this restaurant in 2002 and remembered it so fondly that I had to return. The food and service were both impeccable. My husband had venison which he said was delicious. I had the ribbolita again which was as wonderful as I...More

We have eaten in several restaurants in San Gimignano this week and this is the first where we felt the restaurant was too focused on presentation, at the detriment of flavour and value. For example, the 6-7 pieces of ravioli (priced at 15Euro) were served...More

I didn't but I was tempted to do so. The gnocchi several of us had was amazing. The wine and the service were great. One of the best in town in my opinion for dinner.

Everything was ok, but nothing special. Definitely not one of our best experiences in San gimignano.... nothing to come back in our opinion....

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident and were very happy with our choice. Seeing the pizzas on other people's plates in retrospect we maybe should've ordered those, they looked delicious! Our pasta was cooked perfectly (al dente) and the sauce was extremely tasty. Could...More

We just returned from a fabulous meal at La Mangiatoia. The service was impeccabile, the wine list satisfactory, the menu authentic, but the meal? The meal was superb! The atmosphere can not be beaten, the attention to detail unexpected. The pici that I longed for...More

I came here with my wife and three children a few days ago and I definitely recommend it if you want to experience tuscany to a whole new level. The tipical tuscan cuisine they serve is simply delicious. The tastes are traditinal but original at...More

I crave this restaurant. Best in San Gimignano in my opinion. I've been there over 6 times on my trips to Italy and plan on returning this fall. Try the Pear Gargonzola FLan Appitizer.

This was a great and quite beautiful restaurant. The service was great and this was one of the few restaurants open during their offseason holidays. Last but not at all least, the food was excellent and they had their own blend of house wine that...More

Good staff and food, nice starters, good meat but the proposal was "meat-tagliata" with porcini mushrooms and truffles .... the truffle was there but the taste and the scent no. Price a bit high but not too much.

The Renaissance banquets at the Medici court with game and vegetables of the lands of Tuscany come back to life in The Manger restaurant menu in the center of San Gimignano. In Via Mainardi in the stables of an ancient building, Susi and Paul Nannelli have recreated the atmosphere of other times, offering a cuisine that is inspired precisely by the ancient recipes reworked in a modern way: fillet of venison with vin santo and mushrooms, Wild Boar Remigio de 'Nannini and wild boar in sweet and sour sauce are just some of the unusual dishes to try for sure. The restaurant is run by Mrs. Susi who chooses only local products for the preparation of the dishes presented to guests with care even in appearance. Do not miss the Tuscan specialties such as Ribollita or pappardelle with wild boar, much loved by foreign tourists who visit the locale.Il restaurant is located in the historical center a few steps from Piazza Sant'Agostino in a living room with stone walls and brick arches ancients. The atmosphere is rustic and elegant and is eaten with a background in classical music. In summer there stands outdoors to enjoy in addition to the kitchen even the atmosphere of the medieval village. The management is friendly: the spouses Nannelli together with their daughters Annalisa and Giulia will welcome you with kindness and cordiality.
