This was our second visit to the restaurant. We enjoyed it so much on our last visit 2 years ago that we hired a driver at $700 to drive us to the restaurant from Florence and it didn’t disappoint. The setting, service and food are...definitely at a Michelin level. This is a “must” experience if any where near Siena.More

This was by far one of my favorite restaurants to eat at in Italy. The most amazing and quick service, with the most amazing food I have ever had! I loved the gnocchi with truffle. The underground cellar was so cool and made the dinner...such a cool spot! I 100% recommend this restaurant!!More

We snagged a late reservation to La Taverna and were really glad we did. The three of us each ordered two courses and then shared them and a dessert and still ended up with more food, all of it quite tasty, than we could comfortably...consume (but we did anyhow). The menu trends toward beef, pork, and organ meets, with little poultry or seafood. If we return to Siena, we will be sure to dine here again.More

This place is a must if you are in Siena. The food, service and ambiance were all top notch. I was in heaven with every bite. The wait staff were all very professional and nice. The owners were out mingling with the dinner crowd, which...I always like to see. We loved our whole experience dining there. It was our first night in Italy for our honeymoon and I can’t imagine a better start!More

Fantastic, authentic, romantic, great service! We had a Chianti Classico, the traditional Ribollita soup which was lovely (shared) then the Florentine steak which was cooked beautifully. Finished with dessert and another wine. We are a couple away on a romantic tour in Siena, a couple...of foodies and this was the best restaurant for food, atmosphere, and service, priced reflected reasonably, we were happy with it all, no negatives. Make sure you book in advance, we tried to walk in on the Saturday but fully booked and were so happy to get a table for the Monday lunch (all tables were full too!)More

First class everything. I was undecided about ordering the chicken liver appetizer, the restaurant gave me a nice sample and I ended up loving it and ordering it. Very tasty. Samuel , our waiter, suggested a nice bottle of wine and it was most delicious...and he was very helpful all night. A must stop in Siena.More

We come to Siena just to go to La Taverna di San Giuseppe every two year's since 2009. We enjoyed three dinners with Matteo and his family/staff last week and continue to love the food and experiences . We are world travellers who always end...up here.., our favourite restaurant in the world! Matteo always suggests excellent wine and the service is best in class. The food never disappoints. There are great truffle options that we highly recommend. Experience the Etruscan cave from 200 BCE.More

This is a must go when in Siena!!! Everything was so delicate and delicious that made our trip to Siena even more special. We started with a local cheese souffle with pear which was divine, I could eat dozens of these. For the main dish...we had pasta with truffle and Lasangna Bolognese that were delightful. It was the best restaurant of our two-week trip. A reservation is needed.More

I made this reservation over a month ago so thought dinner will be at 19:30hrs. At 19:15, we got a call from the restaurant reminding us that we were late. We hurried and made it there in 5 mins. We are very thankful to Lorella...for calling us on an overseas number and saving the table for us. Most places would have given up our table after 15 mins. The restaurant was totally booked out for a Thursday night! The food was absolutely fantastic, probably the best for us this trip (we went to many nice restaurants this trip). Definitely a must visit if one plans to visit Siena but reservation in advance is a must!More

Went here while on a 3 hour stop in Siena. Having lunch at a michelin rated restaurant was a delight we did not expect. Very rustic, yet charming interior, with a very friendly staff. This place dishes out some amazing food at a very reasonable...price. The freshly shaved truffle over the top of the pasta was a real treat and something that should definitely be experienced.More

I cannot say enough about this incredible restaurant. Our family of six adults came here for our first night in Siena (we made advance reservations before our trip, and I highly encourage that move). The dining area has inherent old world charm and the regional...menu is absolutely exquisite! Every dish was beautifully presented and prepared, and we do not have a single complaint about the quality, value, and service. If you are in Siena, don't miss this gem!More

We were very fortunate to get a reservation at La Taverna di San Giuseppe! We booked ahead and so glad we did! The atmosphere, food and service were all amazing!
