We arrived at the opening time of 7:00pm and were the only 3 people dining. The waitress was charming explaining the food in detail. The mixed Tuscan cheeee and bread starter was exquisite. The main course of speciality Tortelloni was out of this world. The restaurant now had a couple of ladies dining and a party of 10 others. Both... More

We had a beautiful meal here served with great finesse and care. It touched lightly on the fact that this restaurant specialises in presenting medieval dishes in a medieval setting. Sometimes there is the opportunity to eat downstairs in the deep cellars. This is an adventure worth having. The only minor quibble.....the classy setting and theatrical presentation of tasty food... The restaurant is quite cool, the staff is very friendly, but the food is far from what you would expect for the price...We took the menu, and the courses were coming way to quick, we had a 6 courses menu in one hour!! that's how quick they were in serving!

We visited on a very quiet evening, but enjoyed excellent food and good service. They were very accommodating since we made reservations right as they opened for the evening. It was the best combination of starters, main course, desert and wine that we had while in Tuscany. Good value for the quality of food we received.

We ate here twice on our stay in Siena - mainly because I am gluten intolerant and found that many of the restaurants were closed for the off season so found it very hard to find good options for lunch and dinner - however both times were lovely. Our waitress, Martina, was very helpful and more than happy to make... More

We ate there twice (which already tells you something). We were a large party so booked by phone from the UK, and again once we had eaten there. Most of the staff speak very good english. The service was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. The Maitre D was very helpful, explaining the local nature of the food, the recipe origins and... More

This place is a must in any visit to Siena, third time in this beautiful Tuscan city and my first at Gallo Nero, the food is great, any gnocchi plate is delicious and overall you can feel the freshness of the pasta, we were five and had different plates. They have a wide and fine wine selection and they will... More

Had a very enjoyable dinner in this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere in what appears to originally be old stables. Great wine selection and food was very good. Staff seemed rushed with limited English to help explain the various choices on the menu. Probably would have enjoyed it more with a little more attention to the client....felt rushed to place our...
