Interesting seating arrangement on the steep hill, tables seat two people per table all facing down the hill with the legs of the tables and chairs trimmed to make it work. We wanted drinks and snacks but were told we had to have lunch. Then...the table behind us were allowed to have just drinks, so that was marginally annoying! We ordered aperol spritz drinks, one of which arrived with only 1 piece of ice and an apology that they had run out of ice. We didn’t want to drink a warm drink (bear in mind that much of an aperol spritz is stored at room temperature, so the drink wasn’t as cold as you’d want on a hot day, or as it should be on any day, really) so returned them and had rose wine. Again, we couldn’t order a bottle as they had no way of keeping it cool for us with no ice available so we just had a glass each. We ordered pasta with wild boar ragu which was nice and came with a cup of grated Parmesan and a basket of rather dry sliced bread. Also a drunken fig salad, this was Eur16 for basically a bag of supermarket mixed salad in a bowl with a few (2 or maybe 3?) slices of prosciutto, maybe 5 little figs and 5 cherry tomatoes. The prosciutto on top was drizzled with honey, but the vast majority of the leaves were undressed. It was all nice enough but at Eur53 (including a cover charge of £5 for the table, plus the bill implied we should leave a tip) the whole thing wasn’t great value!More

If you are in Siena make sure to stop by both for Lunch and dinner, food is excellent, especially the pasta with mushrooms and truffle sauce and parmigiana, and the selection of wine is like nowhere else. Exactly what you would expect in Tuscany! Also...service is great and the team are accommodating, super quick service, one of a kind view and a relaxing atmosphere!More

First night in Siena. After a lot of research from my partner, we made a reservation. And we were NOT disappointed. Very attentive staff. Knowledgeable about the local wines. Food was very good. Aubergine parmigiana to start, Sea Bream and pasta as mains. Perfectly cooked....Would come again. Fantastic experience. thank you to all the staff at Zest.More

We enjoyed another fabulous lunch at Zest, our favorite restaurant in Siena. Beautiful Fay to sit outside, new couch style seating very comfortable and the food was outstanding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! We had eggplant parmigiana and a delicious salad with figs and Buffalo mozzarella. We then had the most amazing cheesecake. It was light and creamy and so good. They are so gracious too! Answered all of our questions.

After reading great reviews, we didn't mind waiting 20 minutes for a table. However, once the waiter seated us, we waited 40 minutes for someone to come to us and they only did after we waved to the waitera several times. Food was average at...best, portions smaller than in other places for the same type of food. We were in the mood for dessert, but after waiting for more than half an hour for anyone to come pick up our plates, we gave up and went elsewhere for desserts.More

Odd experience: first they forgot my reservation and then my order. I waited 40 minutes for the food which was ok but not more. Disappointed.

Late lunch and a glass, cool place in a small local hill, excellent food (we ate simple; fried pecorino cheese with prosciutto).

We discovered the restaurant by accident and reserved a table mostly for the beautiful location. The prices were pretty low so we were really amazed at how good the food was and how beautiful it was presented. But mostly the service was really good! I...would definitely recommend this place!More
