An absolute gem. Everything was outstanding, the welcome, the decor, the wine and most importantly the food. We really could not recommend this wonderfully intimate restaurant highly enough. A highlight of a great week in Italy and we will definitively return when we visit Siena...again.More

Our family (including kids ages 12 and 9) had a wonderful experience dining here just before Christmas. Dinner reservations are hard to come by (even booking well in advance) but we were able to get a lunch reservation, which was very lucky for us. Everything...about the meal was top notch. The service was excellent (we speak no Italian beyond pleasantries) and thoughtful. The food and wine were amazing. We spent 10 days in Italy and this meal was one of the highlights of the trip. The meal was also a good value, given the high quality ingredients and expert preparation. Our whole family highly recommends this restaurant. We'll certainly dine there again on our next trip to Siena.More

My wife and I dined at L'Oro di Siena based on Tripadvisor reviews and would dine there again. As noted in previous reviews, it's an intimate restaurant -- only 4 tables, Mateo does all the serving and his mother does the cooking. This makes it...a very special evening. Mateo does a top-notch job of explaining what you're about to eat and making wine recommendations. The food is beautifully arranged and a delight to eat. The cheese plate in particular was a stand-out. We've been eating them at all of the restaurants in Siena and this was the best. The restaurant is a 5 minute walk down the hill out of the historic -- but certainly manageable. We had our hotel make reservations, though Mateo speaks good English. Wonderful evening.More

In my 61 years of existence, I have been fortunate enough to eat in some very special places around the world. There are more years behind me now than there are ahead of me and when it's "that time", I will think of this restaurant...-- the owners, the people, the food, and the atmosphere, and I will smile. Thank you for this experience. Read the other reviews. They all say very similar things. This is a special place, run by very special people. It's like eating at your mother's home, one last time, except your mother is a Michelin level chef. The presentation, the quality of ingredients, the temperature, the texture, the combination of flavors -- they were simply amazing. Realize that you are eating at an establishment, where ownership has passion and pride for what they do. I believe I only saw 4 tables. Think about that and what that means. Long story short, just go -- for lunch or dinner. My wife and I went for lunch and it turned out to be one of the two best meals of my life. The owners and the atmosphere pushed it over the top. It beat out my 1400 Euro Michelin starred restaurant in Monte Carlo for top restaurant experience in my life. I cannot thank you enough.More

One of the best experiences we have had dining in Italy. Make a reservation to this quaint family run restaurant where you will find authentic Italian cuisine and the best service around. Matteo greeted us, explained all of our options and did not disappoint with...the quality of food and service we received. From the appetizers, to the entrees, and finally the desserts we could not have been happier. All entrees are made from scratch with love and it shows. Matteo was very helpful in our wine selection as well. We will definitely be back.More

Great creative food with top attention to source and quality - not a casual restaurant but accommodated my son and I without hesitation- definitely underdressed. Presentation matched high food quality and waiter/owner provided detailed explanations of the dishes his mother (the chef) prepared. Definitely the...best boutique Tuscan charcuterie we’ve had, both pastas (ravioli and cure) had nice sweet-savory contrasts, and the main- beef skewer stuffed with walnuts and goat cheese et al was roasted to a crispy perfection. Very nice meal for those with slightly more refined palate without being “experts-only.”More

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining here and it was a meal to remember. The restaurant is extremely intimate. We were one of three tables. The restaurant is run by Mateo and his mom is the chef. Mateo was extremely knowledge and...passionate and you could tell he lives to serve joy to his customers. From the way he pours the wine to the way Mateo looks at his customers, you can see how much he cares. He truly wants nothing more than to make your dining experience unforgettable- and that he does. The food is NEXT LEVEL. Truly, the most delicious meal we had during our week in Italy. The food is local, hand selected and absolutely delicious. What was even better was a beautiful conversation we had with Mateo at the end of the night. He is a wonderful person who you will remember. Thank you to Mateo and his mom for serving us our most memorable meal to date. We will not forget you!More

Now that's a tough one, they have no web site, the best way to do it, is search for their restaurant in TripAdvisor and you can email them from there as I have just checked and there is a button you can click on. Great... More
