Excellent place for a meal right near the basilica of St Francis. Popular place that was also popular with the locals which is a good sign. The town signs are a bit confusing to find it but its worth trying harder. We had excellent food although the panzanella was a bit ordinary so I wouldn't go for that. Everything else... More

Nothing to write home about. While I enjoyed the bottle of Sagiovese, wine and the braised veal (which was very very thin), the salad was actually iceberg lettuce. That's what I expect in America, not in Italy. When food is beautifully presented I take a photo. There are no pictures for what any if us ordered.

In a town like Assisi it may seem hard to find places to have lunch or diner that are not part of mass tourism. This trattoria is one of those, right at the northern back gate of Assisi. While grandpa keeps a close eye on clients, grandma cooks away in the kitchen - and both serve genuine food for the... More

This restaurant provided pleasant place for lunch on a cold winter's day. The service was attentive. The food was interesting with use of truffles, fungi and artichokes to complement the pasta. Highly recommend the artichoke and mushroom vegetable dish.

My husband and I stopped in as it was right down the street from the monastery we were staying in and thought this small family restaurant was great. Really unique local cuisine. We had a "Francesco Pilgrim's plate" or something like that - it came served in a TV Dinner style plate which was charming. It was all delicious and... More

We had lunch here. The pasta was nice enough and the sauces had clearly been made from tomatoes so nothing to complain about but not outstanding. The side salad was some bits of iceberg lettuce whereas every else we ate a green salad was a tasty mix of leaves. Homely feel to the restaurant and clean loos. Reasonable prices. Overall... More

We were recommended this place and given a 10% discount because we were staying at the Hotel Propezio. We certainly weren't disappointed. All of us enjoyed our meals so much we returned a couple of nights later. I highly recommend the Pilgrims platter of meatballs with other tasty treats.

We tried this trattoria because the normal one we like was closed on Wednesdays and it was a lucky find. We were there for lunch early and the restaurant was open but we were the first customers of the day. They made use feel welcome and brought out the menu which was full of interesting items we had not seen... More

Excellent bruschetta misto; all the pasta dishes are terrific; among the contorne, the roasted mushroom and artichoke is just stunning. Our best meat dish: grilled veal strips on a bed of dressed arugula, topped with minced truffles. Very authentic and always very fine.
