Nice ambience wasn't enough to offset poor food. For full disclosure we had booked through la fourchette (not that this should matter of course). My lamb tasted more like mutton (it's April). My wife barely touched her main course as it tasted strange (which I confirmed) - in many places one might expect it to be taken off the bill... More

had an amazing meal here, the quality of the food, wine, coffee, etc. is unquestionable. but as a waitress myself i got a negative impression when i was "handled" in a kind of unwelcoming, snide manner by a waiter. the rest of the team seems to be entirely lovely. what i find unacceptable though is taking out 40.- in bills... I was at Le Socrate with a friend of mine that had a voucher on thefork.com. Food was great, there is a wide choice of French typical receipts: I advise the lamb with mashed potatoes that was simply excellent. Great thing is that we got 50% discount on all food thanks to the voucher. I will return.

It is nice to find an old fashioned restaurant in Geneva still. The service was excellent and the wine by the glass good and reasonably priced. The service excellent. We chose traditional fare, slow cooked lamb in a succulent wine sauce, for our mains, the meat fell off the bone, wonderful. The starters were fresh salads, but I had marrow bone,... More

Food is objectively very good, but the service was incredibly rude ! To be fair, we were benefitting from a discount offer. But we were refused water when we asked for it... And the waiter was very rude : "given the fact you are benefiting from this discount offer, it would be the least to take one drink per person".... More

We went there for a nice three course menu and everything was perfect: nice entrée (mushrooms), main course (wonderful pieces of meat) and delightful dessert (warm chocolate cake) I would recommend it to every colleague visiting Geneva!

This is a very nice place where you can find the usual options of a french bistro, with the addition of 1-2 special chef dishes depending on the season. The ambience is lovely, reminding you of a different era and the service is excellent. The prices are on the high end however probably worth it if you want a classy... More

Went there for dinner with friends. Booked through La Fourchette so we got a good deal. Food was really good and out of the ordinary. Service was super friendly (and funny). Only down side is the wine list. I know it's Geneva but only 4 wines below 100 is not enough.
