La Tinera is an intimate cozy restaurant with a ton of ambience, it is situated in the center of Lugano. Very close to the Dante Hotel from where many customers come from. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, A very well selected local Ticino/Italian menu, every day they have a pre-selected special meal on their menu. I think they... More

We found this restaurant after a few days of rather expensive run of the mill places to eat. But this restaurant was superb. Great ambience. Reasonable prices. Very good food and served by friendly waiters. Make it a must in Lugano.

Wonderful dinner, waiter extremely helpful, service was prompt and delicious osso bucco with polenta. Had flan for dessert, also delicious. Will return. Very pleased. Prices reasonable.

Very local menu, I can recommend the different Risottos, the ossobucco and the horse steak. Deserts were amazing, my favorite was the homemade tiramisu and the Creme caramel. Waiter was super friendly and tried very hard to accommodate for our poor Italian language skills. Place had a very local feel, including serving excellent local wine in porcelain bowls

We went to La Tinera as we were looking for place to have an early dinner in Lugano. The entrance is rather hidden in the city centre and the restaurant itself located in a cozy cellar room. We were the first guests and the service was extremely friendly and welcoming. My husband ordered Ossobuco with Risotto (delicious!!!) and I had... More

My cousin and I had lunch here based on a lady at the tourist information center's recommendation. We loved it! It was small and cozy, the service was great even though the place was very busy, and the food was great. We each got one of the specials and loved it. I had the pumpkin ravioli and she had the... The polenta and chicken were good, green salad was only iceberg lettuce. The waiters were efficient but not warm, ambience comfortable and cozy.

La Tinera is an underground restaurant, a small place without windows not nice views, that you will really need to go around the block a few times to actually find it. I like these kind of places, because as there is no possibility to accidentally find it, there is two things they can do to get a recomendation: good food... More

I had visited this restaurant a few years ago and decided to give it a go for lunch while in Lugano. As with my previous experience our meal was delicious. The veal and risotto we cooked to perfection. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner.

Fantastic meal for all 4 of us. We eat had a different dish and they were all uniquely spiced. Atmosphere was great... Down in a cozy room.
