A small menu on a chalk board. Staff were knowledgeable but the meal felt rushed as food came out so quickly and our main courses arrived with my husband's starter, so he ate his main course on his own. That said, the food was delicious...and the tables on the terrace are great for people watching.More

We enjoyed excellent service and good food. Very large wine list with many wines also available by the glass. Reservation strongly recommended.

Excellent restaurant to share with your partner. Chose your wine and your meal with the advise of the server and then enjoy, appreciate, all we drink and eat was excellent. Thanks a lot we will come back!

We stayed at the Hotel Splendide and concierge recommended us three restaurants: Argentino, Olympia, and Cucina del Alice - all three of which were extremely mediocre, tourist oriented and with huge menus (usually a bad sign), and probably only advised to us because of some...partnership between the hotel and restaurants. Bottegone was incredible, we ended up going there three days in a row. The menu is small and changes every day, the staff were welcoming and the terrace was very cozy. We spent five days in Lugano and this restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. Highly recommend !More

A very negative exprerience yesterday since request was for two glasses of white wine and nibbles. The nibbles turned into Steak Tartare, that I did not order, and that was ridiculously expensive. My second glass of wine never came although I was charged for two...glasses and the Steak Tartare! Yes, my Italian language skills need improvement. However, I felt that this was altogether not fair so the first and last time that I visit this terrrible place that appear to prey on unsuspecting tourists.More

This was quite a different restaurant in some ways: 1. They use a chalkboard instead of the usual menus and only have a limited number of dishes to choose from. 2. They seem to have a reservation-policy. I guess it’s the Ferrari Principle — they...don’t run after you. They know their worth as a restaurant... 3. Only men waiters work there. The service was very friendly towards us. The Italian waiter even carried our toddler around the restaurant (I guess he warmed up towards us as I said that I only wanted to drink Italian wines). The pasta is house-made and I had the ravioli Gorgonzola. It was fresh and tasty but nothing too special and the portion was quite small. The panna cotta was very good. TIP: if you’re a wine enthusiast, then this is the place for you as they have a lovely selection of Swiss-Italian wines (see photos attached).More

Found it on the site, short walk from our hotel and couldn't have been better. Sort of communal seating and almost all locals. We were made to feel right at home. Short menu on a black board but our server was happy to explain what...each item was. Excellent wine choices and great dessert. Even made new friends who were sitting next to us. Reservations, a must.More

Courteous waiter and very good service. Honest recommendations of wine and definitely not the most expensive one. With every wine you receive a plate of some slices of salami and cheese. Without asking the waiter serves the next plate. Unexpected and just great.

The service very good, the food delicious, take into consideration that plates are served in big portions, so you can definitely share some. Excellent list of wines, very good option.
