Stayed here for new year a couple of times with friends in camper vans. Mick was very nice and as we spent 2 days in the bar he didn't charge for camping. The new manager a year later charged £30 a night when we did the same dispite us only sleeping in van and eating all our meals in bar.... More

Went here on sunday afternoon around five o clock. Nice atmosphere with quite a few customers eating which also smelt good. We went into the pool room to the side of the bar. The barmaid was cheerful and helpful and even brought my friends coffees to him. Would of gone higher score if the pool table had been flat but... More

Wow, what an atmosphere! this lovely old pub has oak panelling and centuries of history. Ask to see some of the old photos, if that interests you, and take in the food, and great ales while youre there.

We got married on 7th October and thought it would be a brilliant idea to have our wedding reception here. All of the staff were very helpful and accommodating, especially Jane and Kelly: who decorated the function room up for us beautifully, and provided our wedding meals to around 60 of us. The meals were generously sized and cooked to... More

As ever a lovely, interesting pub, good food (the mini mixed grill was huge and perfect), and with all the fantastic old world decor and knick knacks, this is a place not to be missed. It puts most country pubs to shame. Fully recommended.

We stayed here for a night as part of a multi-stop holiday. What a lovely place! We arrived slightly before 3pm, and were given a warm welcome by the landlady. The inn dates back to the 15th century, and is packed full of antiques and knick-knacks collected across the centuries since, which gives it such a cozy, warm feeling (just... More

very old building, typical country bar, with tiny bar and cosy snug seating areas. This pub has small room at back with larger dining tables, which leads to huge garden area which includes a large play area for children. I believe there is ability to pitch tent on site too. We actually popped in here for evening meal as we... More

We spent three nights camping on the site behind the pub for a Friends Fest which was held in the barn. (Music festival). It is a beautiful spot and the landlord and landlady were very friendly and helpful. I thought the camping price of £20 per night with hook up a tad on the high side as there were only... More

Camping with the basics, facilities are in need of upgrade. We had an enjoyable weekend and the children enjoyed playing in the large field and little park. I can't comment on the food as we waited a while then got fed up and left. Worth checking the meal times too as food isn't always available. It's a quirky cosy pub... More

Having not been for many years we decided to have a run up for lunch. The staff are very friendly, pub still as we remember. There is a good choice on the menu.My wife's starter came with some very yellow lettuce which did not taste as nice the green lettuce that I had.We both had a roast beef dinner, the Yorkshire...
