Very tasty food, and wonderfully fresh. We visit Alfred with some regularity. Very nice host and cook. He cooks almost at the table in a compact space. Many of his vegetables come from the vegetable garden, and his wife makes the pies and soup. Honest food for a normal price. Highly recommended!

We came here because of the good reviews. The restaurant is small, even on the day we were there. There were few guests, but it took a long time for the food to arrive. We ordered hamburgers, but what came was a meatball with a slice of white bread. Any American would have been completely horrified. We are not Americans, but we don't consider this a hamburger either. The term is confusing and should be changed. The service was friendly.

We had a great meal in a cozy restaurant with an open kitchen and a great chef. The menu is limited, but everything is sparkling fresh and prepared with care. We will definitely come back.
