After a busy week we were looking for a place to "unload". We were warmly welcomed and were able to find a seat in the lounge. We were able to switch off with a nice glass of champagne. At the table we enjoyed a 5 course dinner with a beautiful balance of fish and meat with very well matched wines. In summary, we had a fantastic evening in a beautiful atmosphere. A gem in Apeldoorn!

Klaas Norel can cook so well. The dishes are all beautifully flavored and presented in an original way. And all served with a smile and Melissa who also gives good wine advice. Unexpectedly booked by my husband for us and our daughter and son-in-law. Enjoyed the four-course dinner. Beautifully served in combination with delicious wines. Tables are not too close together, so you can chat in peace and quiet and they are very flexible with our dietary requirements (which we forgot to communicate). Also great non-alcoholic drinks! I'm writing this review a little bit with stomachache. We regularly eat in the 'fine dining' segment and then some restaurants are gems. We give those gems 5 stars. This is because you cannot give higher.
Giving 5 stars to Mel&Norel would make the level of The Lemon Tree in Deventer or the Utrechtsedwarstafel in Amsterdam o equivalent, because they are not (yet) that far.
The reception was friendly and that you are first received in the lounge is nice. There you drink a Cava, eat a few oysters and the steak tartar toast was a promising start.
Kind of a false start, though. The 1st dish of our 6 course dinner was the trout and it was bland. This one could have been more spectacular. The first 3 courses came from the sea and especially the 3rd course with mussels in a delicious sauce was our favorite of the evening.
The quail and sukade were fine but nowhere in the evening did you feel enchanted by the dishes.
