After arriving back in Amsterdam to live, we were missing really good sushi that we could find in Zurich, of course you can find so many takeaway sushi places, but they are like a fast food version of mcdonald's for fish. I found this place while hunting down Japanese restaurants in the old south of the city, I called and... More

Quaint, small traditional Japanese restaurant. The menu is small, simple and classic. Sashimi menu depending on daily available fresh fishes.

Hidden little restaurant in stadionbuurt. But easily reached with public transport. Parking on sunday is free of charge. They serve the absolute best sushi / sashimi we ate in The Netherland. Less good: very little variety of choice and the tempura should be much lighter. Decoration desperately needs an update. Price is on heavy side, but quality is worth every... More

Sometimes you have to look closely to find out whether a stone is truly a gem. Umeno is such a place. You will likely pass the entrance without knowing it is there if you don’t know the place -it is that null. But if you enter, you’ll be in for a surprise. The atmosphere is cosy, traditional and even a... More

The sushi was pretty amazing, especially the Otoro and langoustine. The beef was very yummy as well but the queen of the night was "tuna avocado salad". The price is may not be so friendly but the quality of the food here is worthing for every cent you spend.

Great food but take a gentle wallet with you as some items may impress your budget and they only accept cash - no plastic cards. Make advance reservations to avoid dissapointments, the restaurant has limited tables. The authentic preparation and japanese taste is really what makes this little restaurant special. Service is fine but only one lady serving so some... More
