We enjoyed a meal on a busy evening at Sardegna. The food was good, not excellent. The atmosphere at the restaurant was pleasant.

For many years a good italian restaurant with good italian food, friendly and attentive people in a cosy restaurant in a beautiful neighbourhood of Amsterdam. Also ideal for a diner before a concert at the Royal Concertgebouw or auction at Christies.

It's hard to find authenticity in a stylish/porsh area like this, specially in a sterile decoration. But the food was really good (I had ordered vitello tonnato + spaghetti vongole) both very well served (a huge portion for dutch standards). And the service was really amazing, the young lady manage to control the hole room despite a ridiculous manager who... More

Popular restaurant in a great area. Food was great and they have daily specials. House wine very reasonably priced. We were a large group so we made a booking. Six of us with wine came to less than 175 Euro.

We had our first lunch in Amsterdam here this afternoon. While food was amazing, the owner/manager had a full blown fight in front of us with one of the staff members, leaving us shocked and desperate to leave as soon as possible. She did not even offer an apology and clearly had no idea of customer service to suit the... More

This is a great little restaurant in a charming neighbourhood. The food was brilliant - one of the best pastas (spaghetti ragu) I have eaten in a long time, washed down with a couple of glasses of very drinkable Montepulciano. But the whole expereince was spoiled by the owner/manager having a public shouting match with a waiter, who she promptly... More

I went there with a friend on a Saturday evening, we did not want to go too far from our hotel. It seems that it was a good decision. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. We paid 25 euros for an excellent pizza and a glass of wine, both of them very appreciable. Recommend it!

We had a very nice dinner at Sardegna on Valentine's Day. My husband had pasta ragu and I had veal with eggplant and cheese. We both really enjoyed our meal. The service was excellent and very attentive. The only downside of the evening was that the restaurant got louder as the evening went on and it became hard to carry... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
