We spent a weekend in Amsterdam inApril. Everywhere was busy, and many of the restaurants recommended by guidebooks in this area (Prinsenstraat, close to the Tulip and Cheese museums) were booked out. We came across 'De Twee Grieken' by chance - and what a lucky find. It is very welcoming, and has great character. The 'maitre' runs a great show... More

Not going on holiday to Greece this year so we made reservations at De 2 Grieken. The sister in the kitchen and the brother in the restaurant. Excellent combination. We eat there at least once a year for it feels like a vacation. A warm welcome and good cooking. If the weather allows it, the eating outdoors is a bonus.... More

It's just the one guy running the joint, he took great care of us. Souvlaki and baklava were both tremendous. Nice quiet street, fun people watching while we ate

Our selections at this small and authentic restaurant were eggplant salad, spinach and goat cheese pie, pork in a spicy sauce, veal in tomato sauce with shallots (sofrito), and a carafe of house red. All choices were very good, and the sofrito was outstanding. A slice of Greece in Amsterdam.

Nice little restaurant with lovely food. We had a sharing plate of various Greek delicacies and then the lamb with garlic was outstanding. The chef and waitress were just lovely. We were the only people there which was a pity but it was early in the season.

Honest food for honest prices! If you are a vegetarian than you are completely satisfied with the vegetarian Pikilia, the greek salad and the extra spanakopirotika! As if you are in Crete!

My wife and I have been coming here since 1997, that is whenever we come to Amsterdam. The food is always delicious and we look forward to our next visit in November. All the food is excellent, the mixed platter is very satisfying. If you enjoy Greek food, it's well worth a visit and it's also on a lovely street... More
