Came across Molly Malones as we walked from the cruise terminal into town. After walking round town in the evening we stopped off for a drink. Although busy we found seats and as I waited to be served at the bar, one of the bar staff took my order and brought it to us at the table. I like Irish... More

Centrally situated close to the Sentraal Station. We had a drink there after Christmas lunch. The pub was beautifully decorated. The owner and his brother were serving drinks whilst getting ready for Christmas dinner. Friendly service and good beer – we will be back

My boyfriend and I stayed in the hotel (France Hotel) next door throughout our stay 28th Dec - 2nd Jan 2017 and had breakfast in this pub every morning. We loved it. The Scottish owner (who's name I can't remember) is one of the nicest people we met on our pub and the pub has a very quirky and happy... More

The ribs are perfect! This little pub near Dam square is a great place for a beer and some ribs. Had the lamb chops in the past and didn't love them, small and rib/rack style.

Has the smell of a proper pub, the staff were friendly and served a very good Guinness. Go for a night with mates, or just a late, early, mid day drink :)

Great spot. Caution: They do not take reservations for 2 people only. Get there a little early and no problem. Order the ribs!!

Thanks for your review Bruce. Great to hear you enjoyed our ribs :-) Just as a small note, we do normally take bookings for just 2 people. Unless it is really busy with reservations already which happens on the weekend days quite a bit. But we wouldn't take bookings for larger groups either anymore then as we wouldn't be able... More

Welcome to Molly Malone’s; an Irish pub as it should be!

Irish charm, Old world hospitality, lovely food, live music sessions, friendly staff and of course loads of craic; Molly’s has it all!

Molly's is located in an historic, former warehouse on the edge of Amsterdam's famous Red Light District and just a couple of minutes walk to the Central Station.

Our canal-side terrace faces out towards the St. Nicholas church and is a hot-spot for locals and tourists to relax and take in the lazy life of this delightful Dutch neighbourhood. The interior is lined with old whiskey barrels and aged Irish antiques, and the magnificent oak bar captures the spirit of Irish history in the heart of old Amsterdam.

We hope to see you soon!

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
