I would never recommend a place like this one. The location is good - it is near the windmill, so a lot of tourists comes there. Wide variety of beer, though staff could not recommend me a good one, so I ordered and left the beer. Unfortunately. The food was awful! The only things that you can order there are... More

Stopped in for dinner after visiting the nearby windmill and was impressed by the hand made pasta on offer. Ragu with parpadelle hand made by the chef. Yum.

We went as a family to this sidewalk eatery/pub en-route to the beer hall next door. Service was very good and the open sandwich selection and quality excellent. They have a very good draft beer and bottled beer selection. Worth a visit if you are in this area!

Nice and quaint little restaurant / bar but on a busy road close to the canal plenty of seating areas and again friendly staff and service.

We wandered in at about 9pm and were immediately seated at a comfy table. The beers were excellent and the food was wonderful. Lovely experience.

We come here all the time: pre-IJ, for tea, to work and for "last drink before home". The small bites are great. The chocolate cake is the best ever. The bar has all you want and the staff is amazing. It's a go!

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
