Ok we stayed at the Radisson Blu and on the corner is Basjoe Coffee Shop, Our curiosity was killing us so we popped in to see what was going on. The bartender i guess is what you call her was helpful explaining her weed, she let us smell it and explained how they attained their weed which was pretty interesting,... More

Great casual place for a smoke, dim, not loud and overbearing... but avoid the edibles. An experienced user and two teetotal people felt absolutely nothing from their effects. Very friendly, helpful budtender though!

Me and my fiancé were looking for a coffee shop we felt comfortable in. We are not regular weed smokers but we were doing the whole "when in Rome" thing. This place was the least dingy/dark looking cafe we came across and nicely situated next to a canal. I would certainly recommend to casual weed tourists such as ourselves. I... More

The coffee is actually really good here. It's a nice mellow place in the city, but just off the beaten track to settle down for a chilled smoke.

I would give an average for the lemon haze rainbow cake because it's not that good. But week perhaps my expectations were too high

This is a good mellow spot to smoke and hang out in. It has seating and chill music. Most coffee shops have more or less the same weed but they have good pre-rolled pure weed joints and good herb cakes... especially the chocolate cake. Plus, they open early and are close to red light.

We wanted to order only drinks as we had already bought weed from a different coffee shop. The waiter was so rude while saying that WE HAVE TO BUY WEED TO BE ABLE TO ORDER DRINKS. (Yes exactly as it feels in capitals letters, kind of yelling!) We were 6 and they required not 1 purchase but 6 purchases! What... More

I came here with seven mates and we were able to grab the big seating area towards the back of the coffee shop. It had a big table and very comfortable leather sofas that you sink into. There was open window by us to bring it fresh air. Most of the group had muffins and space cake, a few went... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
