This is a take-out place with a large selection of baked goods and basically across the street from the stock market and a few steps south. The cheese filled croissants are delicious (only €2.50) .....ask for them warmed (although they will usually ask anyway). Apple Beiguet was fantastic as well.....a cinnamon sugar donut filled with lots of grandma's best apple... More

As you walk up from Centraal Station, B de Waal is on your right, on a street corner on the road named Damrak. Super pastries and cakes drinks and lovely friendly english speaking staff. We would recommend the sausage rolls with cheese. The custard filled croissants are to die for. All round highly recommended for quality and value.

Yes, as I recall our lunches here, my mouth starts watering ! While this is only a Take Away Bakery, it has a wonderful variety of absolutely delicious items. From sweet to savory all that we ordered were so good. In fact we bought lunch here twice & found a place to eat on a bench near by both days.... More

We found this bakery to have some of the best breakfast breads/sandwiches we had while traveling in the Netherlands!!! We also found the orange juice so good we kept coming by during our stay to purchase more of the juice...it was freshly squeezed! It is right down the street from the Swissotel on your way to Central Station. The only... More

Very relaxed take out food at a great price. Has both sweet and savoury and, if you're prepared to, join he locals sitting in the window. If you're on a budget, this is a great place for a quick lunch. My only beef - pop in a couple of high tables please??

Expensive for a simple croissant. They also charge locals and tourists different prices. Looks tasty in the window but not really.

My husband made me go in there every day we were in Amsterdam to get their pastries. Always fresh. Miss Amsterdam pastries and sandwiches (and cheeses).

Neighbourhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
