What a special find! We cannot say enough glowing things about this tiny (only 15 tables) little gem. We were treated like "regulars" from the moment we walked in the door - and everything was exquisite from start to finish. We both opted for the tasting menu (Nicoise Salad, Goat Cheese Stuffed Pepper or Salmon w/Avocado Cream in Fried Wonton,... More

Another restaurant a short walk away from the city centre beside a picturesque canal junction. The interior reminded me of an old theatre, but not in a antiquitated way. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was attentive and food was served in a typically Dutch relaxed but not too relaxed style. The beef is amazing, I can thoroughly... More

What a fantastic restaurant! We could tell from outside that this restaurant was something special as the decor was very lush and opulent but the food just blew us away - it was absolutely delicious! The staff were pleasant, friendly and very attentive.

Had dinner here recently after I booked online to ensure a table. This is a small restaurant in a residential street but in the center of the city. Excellent french fare. Starters and mains were well presented and tasty. The wine list is good as well. Sourdough bread for the table was a nice touch. Some good seafood choices.

I always like to leave a few days before finalising my reviews...helps distil the thoughts over time. This is a charming restaurant with enthusiastic staff and interesting décor, the setting is delightful. The menu is varied and definitely something there for most tastes, same goes for the wine list but be aware there are few bargain wines to be had... More

Lunch was so delicious and included such a gorgeous view down the canal, we decided to have dinner at De Belhamel the next night. It was great.

We enjoyed a very pleasant walk along the canal to this restaurant. It was absolutely packed to the ceiling. The service was excellent. The wine was sublime. The food was delicious and different. Can't wait to go back when I am next in Amsterdam

I was recommended to restaurant by the hotel prior to our arrival to celebrate my husbands birthday. I asked the hotel, about 3 months before our arrival, to book a table for us on my husbands birthday. I also asked for a window seat as I had been recommended to ask for this by a friend. We affirmed on my... More

Nice atmosphere and ambient. The servers are nice and the food is above the standard on quality and presentation compared to the average in Amsterdam. The old style tables and chairs makes this place a really nice choice for a romantic or friendly dinner. It overlooks one of the canal, I guess in springtime it's beautiful.

Restaurant De Belhamel is located at the junction of two of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals, the Brouwersgracht (“Brewers’ canal”) and the Herengracht (“Gentlemen’s canal”). It is one of the city’s prettiest spots, quietly situated at the edge of the Jordaan area and offering splendid views on both canals. In summer lunch and dinner are served outside in these lovely surroundings. Not only the location, also the restaurant’s interior is unique: the venue is entirely decorated in the early 20th century Art-Nouveau style, with many original details. The restaurant and entresol give a view over the canals, the bar offers a fine opportunity to enjoy an aperitif before dinner. From 2007 onwards Michelin has rewarded De Belhamel with a ‘Bib Gourmand’.We are looking forward to welcoming you at De Belhamel.
