Most Japanese restaurants in Amsterdam do not give you the real genuine Japanese feel. The sashimi and sushi is authentic Japanese and very fresh and tasty. The owner and staff are extremely friendly. Restaurant An is a real Secret gem only for insiders at least until now 😀👍

I found this japanese restaurant near my hotel using the TripAdvisor app. And I didn't regret it. I took the wakame (seaweed salade) and gyoza (fried dumpling, freshly made) with a dipingsauce made with vinegar. They were both very good. I ended with a selection of nigri of which the one with eel was very good. I would recommend it.... More

A very nice and reasonable Japanese restaurant on Southern Central side of Amsterdam. Nice food with a nice welcoming atmosphere with a regular patronage from my single observation. The food was well prepared and the service staff pleasant and knowledgeable.

We have been going to An for many years because they always serve such good quality food . There are so many all-you-can-eat-sushi restaurant popping up like mosoon frogs , but their food quality can never match with An . The owner Ryuji is an artist. He uses only the freshest ingredients , transforming them into eatable art pieces. The... More

I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover, which is definitely the case here. They have simple menu but what they serve is really fresh and tasted great! The staff was really friendly and helpful and all in all we had a great meal. I'm coming back for sure.

Few days away in Amsterdam and my partner and I decided we'd really like a Japanese dinner. We did some tripadvisor research and loved the sound of An. We weren't disappointed. Intimate setting, friendly and efficient service, reasonably priced and to die for sushi and sashimi! It was a delight... Unfortunately I had no room left but would have loved... More
