First time I had Indonesian food, we ordered the Vegetarian menu for 2 and were so full afterwards - good value and the food was all delicious, such interesting combinations of flavours!

We were walking not too far from Amsterdam Central Train Station looking for a Vietnamese restaurant we went to about a year ago...but, couldn't find it...Saw the menu for the Aneka Rasa in their window and decided to give it a try. As one reviewer said, it was not highly spiced, but, i thought it was a good value for... More

Two of us ordered the Aneka Ricetafel which had a combination of meat and vegetable dishes. The restaurant probably adjusted the taste to be less spicy hot to suit western palate. I personally think for that reason the food was too bland for my taste. They put everything on a hot plate to keep the food warm, a nice idea... More

Love their curry lamb - Gulai Kambling. It was pretty busy and I have to wait for 15 min. it is close to the Red Light District. Their curry is very good and service is great, will go there again if I am in Amsterdam.

We were recommended this restaurant by a tour guide. We are vegetarian and wanted to enjoy a nice meal where we had plenty of options. This place did the job! We've never had Indonesian food before and it has now become a firm favourite of ours after our meal here. The staff were extremely polite and friendly. The food was... More

Small restaurant tucked away just a few blocks from central station. Set menus with lots of great items.

Was starving after a long day and ended up here, and we were glad we did. The restaurant was quiet but the staff were lovely and the food was good. The portions were large, and with the set menus it was very easy to choose. We paid EUR 96.40 for 3 people.

i went here due to the large amount of good reviews from others. i would implore others not to, the food is overpriced rather bland and not that good. you dont get much for what you pay for, some of it was lukewarm and most of the rest of it tasted like microwave brand food. spend your money elsewhere, nothing... Was a great place to go. They have no a la carte menu any more. They serve no longer rendang. Only rijsttafels. We left hungry.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
