The choices in Amsterdam for Kosher dinners in thin, but at least there are several very good choices, and this is one. It is a little pricey for Kosher food, but not terribly so. Your on vacation, so spend a few bucks and have a good, very good, meal.

What saves this place from obscurity is the paucity of choice in Amsterdam. The faded decor, unchanged since the first time I visited 15 years ago, accurately depicts what you can expect to eat. If you do eat there the Yemeni soup is your best bet. Overall the plainer food is adequately prepared to feed a hungry visitor. Don't splash... More

Unfortunately we had unpleasant experience. the place was dirty, dark and very slow service as there was a group there by the time we came. the food was not testy, (ordered 3 different dishes) we ordered well-done steak - it was like gum, and impossible to eat. price is average + .

The place looks deceivingly simple if somewhat overdecorated and if one understands Israeli restaurants, this is by no means a bad sign. We were a party of six with loads of experience of the various kinds of cuisine available in Israel. We started out with asking for a spread of salads as well as two plates of hummous and were... Great delicious home cooked meal...We had nowhere to eat most of the trip and were saved by Sami and his staff...If there was a restaurant like this in the north of Israel many savtot would be out of business!!

Not a fancy place, but food is home-cooked like and excellent. Flavorful. For the kosher traveler it is a good option for lunch or dinner.

A useful find in the area. After visiting the Rijksmusem, I was walking in this direction and hit upon this local Kosher restaurant. Run by Sami Bar-On. Upon entering, one is struck by a kind of mournful decoration in beige and turquoise. Wooden tables and chairs provide the seating arrangements. Small star of David alcoves in the walls hold various... More
