The food is tasty, great service and restaurant is cosy. It does not have an extensive menu, however, you can try a big plate to share which includes a variety of the different choices (Some of them very spicy). Fruity beer served in a coconut shell totally recommendable. Enjoy !

We enjoyed the menu for 2: - nice waiters - nice food - nice beer The injera was good and it seemed that all the food is indeed hole made. The price is fair We will definitely come back.

This was my first experience of Ethiopian food and boy did I enjoy it! The spice level was perfect and I really loved eating with my hands too. The waiter was really lovely & you can feel his passion for his food. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant!

Best injera in Amsterdam, eat with your hands and sample a bit of each dish by sharing mixed platters. Seating outdoors with tables by the canal or inside with lovely traditional decoration. Flavoured beers and drinks come served in lovely coconut halves! Such a nice touch.

The service is great, the ambiance is friendly, the dinner social as you are sharing food. But most of all.. the owner really works magic in the kitchen! This has been my favorite restaurant for the last 12 years. Thank you for cooking the way you do!!!

My wife and I went here based on a recommendation from our AirBnB host and were pleasantly surprised. Best Ethiopian food I've ever had. The service was also amazing.

Good food and beautiful decor! The restaurant has a calming vibe to it. The staff are so friendly and you have to try the Mongozo beer :)

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
