When in Amsterdam we usually go to another Thai place (very nearby here) but decided to try Ko Chang following a recommendation - good choice! Fast service, friendly staff, good atmosphere and SPECTACULAR food. So good - I can't describe just how spicy, fresh and complex our dishes were. 'Thai hot' too - just the way we like it. Generous... We dined at this restaurant whilst staying in the Joordan area in November. The food was delicious but don't be a smarty like me and ask for something extra spicey....you will regret it. Once my taste buds returned, and I stopped sweating, my wife told me that the food was spicey enough without anything extra.....I will know better next time!... More

Food was amazing, it really reminded me of genuine Thai food. The staff is friendly and helpful. The one thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant is quite small, not suited for claustrophobic people.

I live in Amsterdam and have checked out a lot of Thai places...this one wins. Affordable, authentic and great taste. My favorite dish is Thai Basil calamari. Its a small place so a reservation may be needed.

Descent not great Thai food. The portions were large and the staff was very nice. However, my husband ordered pad se ew and they used the wrong noodles(pad Thai noodles) for the dish. I would come here again cause the food was tasty. I just wish it was more authentic.

I visited around 5:45pm on Saturday evening, the place was already filling up! Judging from the languages around me, it seemed like a restaurant that locals enjoy (the staff also spoke great English). I had the pad thai, which was generously sized at a good price, and delicious! Each table also gets complimentary prawn crackers, which I really enjoyed. A... More

Packed place on a Saturday night, reservations definitely needed since its small and seats only around 30 or so. But if you manage to get a table it's worth it. Tasty stuff on the menu, sate for starters was good and so was the banana leaf wrapped chicken. Main course yellow rice and baked rice with chicken, cashew and vegetables... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
