We went as a group of 5 and had the most amazing experience. I'd recommend this to anyone. It's really fun and the food was great. The staff were exceptional. Leon and Leanne that served (and helped) us, were fabulous. I can't say enough good things. TRY IT!

I visited this restaurant with work colleagues, and it was an experience worth having. You are escorted into the dinning room which is in complete and total darkness, you have to feel you way to your seat, the table is laid, and then you are brought drinks which you have to serve each other, once you have found the glasses... This really was a great experience and we don't regret going, staff were friendly and the actual experience was great although we had booked for 11am and didn't go in until almost 12 with no explanation as to why we had to wait so long and it didn't even seem that busy plus we'd booked so surely they could have... We were definitely not expecting the food to be as great as it was! Figuring out all the different flavours in the dark just added to the experience. Will be taking friends there in the future for sure!

A dinner in the dark, what an incredible formula, in particular when served by visibly impaired staff. We had a useful introduction as starter and were served by Jeroen, a very friendly waiter who put us quickly at ease. We had the extra sorbet and cheese plate which were worth the extra experience. The atmosphere created interesting discussions on taste... More

Much more than just a dinner, we had a totally new sensorial experience. The food was great and the staff was super nice!

We went last night, a Saturday night, with friends. I knew dining in the dark was going to be something special, but the food and service was also exceptional. On arrival we ordered a drink at the bar, spoke with staff about any dietary issues about 5 minutes later and then in, minimal wait time. 3 of us had the... More

I went here with my boyfriend and we had an amazing time. First it was slightly uncomfortable to be sitting in the dark, not having a clue what you're eating and who's around you. But at some point we sort of got into it and we really enjoyed the pure experience. The food itself is not very special, but the... More

Went here with friends and it's absolutely an experience. I'm not going to lie, I freaked out a little bit at the start when you realise that your eyes don't adjust to this darkness, you don't eventually begin to see the outlines of people. It's pitch black. Once you've got over that then there's the food. I was so disappointed... More

The staff and overall experience was really fun but the food itself was not good. The only nice taste was the desert!

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
