Visited this restaurant twice and on both occasions chose the local "stampot" which was delicious even if somewhat unrefined. Don't eat the bread if you go for 3 courses as fantastic portions. Pea soup to start a must. Staff superb and you must book. Would return.

We decided on De Blauwe Hollander on our first night in Amsterdam. We weren't able to get in until our last night 3 days later so I recommend booking ahead! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for Amsterdam. There were three of us and the total bill came to €80 for three entrees, three mains, two desserts and... More

We visited this restaurant as part of an A&K tour for an evening meal. We selected from a menu of traditional Dutch fare. Leaning to meat, fish, potatoes, it was very tasty.

Everything in this restaurant is good! I strongly recommend having their meatball dish. It is definitely filling! It is a very friendly and informal atmosphere. Service was great and the ambiance was lively! Do pair your meatball dish with one of their local beers on draft...you won't regret it!

The food was very good. I've never had Dutch food before and it was most enjoyable. They only had one person serving and bussing the entire floor so the wait was just painfully long. Would have been perfect.

Very busy restaurant, luckily we managed to get a table without a booking, but it would probably be advisable to book if you wanted to eat at a popular time. I had goats cheese, walnut and honey salad to start, which was lovely and Stampot with beef to follow - stampot is a traditional dish of mashed potato mixed with... More

After getting to Amsterdam on a Thursday morning I wanted a good meal to complete a full day of sightseeing but had no idea of what to expect. I took a chance on De Blauwe Hollander and was very pleased. I wanted something that was comparable to American cooking and ordered a pork chop with boiled potatoes. It was wonderful,... More

The restaurant is just ok. The food is typical dutch but there are better places to taste the food. The staff is ok, but nothing more. We had dinner the first night, but it didn't imress us to come back.

Came across this place by accident, surrounded by pizza restaurants, steak houses and other generic eateries we opted to try the local cuisine. This is not a fancy restaurant but that doesn't mean the food isn't good. We used it twice in as many days. More on that later. The menu is fairly extensive and include a few variations on... More
