A nice size restaurant in small street (no cars, no parking) in the center of Haarlem. Friendly staff, sometimes difficult to understand and not very forthcoming sharing information and explaining the dishes of our 'rijsttafel'. We asked twice about the dishes but nothing than a rapid fire of what we assumed were the names of the dishes. We liked the... More

the Indonesian food was lack luster. It was spicy enough, just not tasty. We ordered the smallest Rijst Tafel, which had more than enough food for 3 people. On a Tuesday evening the restaurant was full, which would mean that the food had something to recommend. We felt it below par and would not return.

I love Indonesian food but my partner had never tried it, so the "rijsttafel" is a great way of trying out lots of different things. The quality of the food was great, but the waiter was also really awesome. We asked some questions about the exhibition upstairs (it changes every so often) so he tolds us a bit about it... More

We ordered a large spread in order to try a wide variety of dishes. Every dish was nicely prepared and the service was very good. We hadn't tried Indonesian food before, so this was a great place for an introduction.

Delicious! A bunch of interesting flavorful dishes. There was so much we couldn't finish! Lovely place very busy. Out of the main drag

My Dutch friends Introduced us to this place last week. I love Indian and Thai food so this was a logical step. I let Nisa choose a selection of dishes for the four of us and was not disappointed. My favourite was the beef rendang but the whole meal was lovely. Family service from Grandpa down and very nicely decorated... More

We lived and worked in Borneo for two years so we love Malaysian and Indonesian food, and we know what it should taste like. Holland has a lot of Chinese-Indonesian restaurants but this one is definitely the real deal, serving not only rijstafel (a traditional Dutch colonial meal almost unknown to Indonesians) but a variety of other dishes as well.... Dutch friends told us to try a Rijstafel, a Indonesian-Dutch specialty, sort of a smorgasbord of various plates and tastes. We loved it! It was a great way to try several dishes, and learn about Dutch history at the same time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A not-to-be-missed experience when in the Netherlands.

Bit of a hike from the airport but had some time and wanted to go somewhere different. Haarlem itself was quite a pleasant town, but this restaurant was a nice gem. Very good authentic food served in a nicely set up Indonesian environment. Both my Laksa and Beef Rendang were wonderful. Service with a smile, and prices that equated to... More

I have been coming here for the last 25 years. Of course the food has had its ups and downs in all those years. But the last time we ate here it was marvellous. The restaurant had expanded, but still managed to keep its intimate atmosphere, service was a bit slow, but the food was incredible. Mains 15 - 20... More
