This small restaurant (during COVID only 18 people can dine) has extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. The surprise menu was even better than the set summer menu. Very good choices of wine to accompany the courses. Pleasant evening out. Excellent pigeon.
This restaurant is located at a beautiful spot in a century old house. The sun was out and we enjoyed dinner outside . We received a heartfelt welcome and the owner is just made for the restaurant business friendly engaging and highly professional . We...took the surprise menu , reasonable priced. My takeaway is that the quality is fine but lacked the finesse & complexity competitors show. Example is the desert with 7 sweet offerings on 1 plate. The mix ‘n match does not always bring the best of the individual components: less is more. All in all great place great hostess, you’ll have an agreeable dinnerMore
We recently had a lovely meal here with friends. We chose the Autumn menu with wines included. The food was presented beautifully, was delicious and the wines were an excellent accompaniment. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We had dinner here on a friday night. We decided to go for the five course set menu and chose wines with it (a Meursault and a Chateauneuf.) The menu was adapted to the wine choice, we started with an amuse served in an egg...cup, then a terrine of salmon and peas, another fish course, lamb chops, venison as a main and finally a pre desert and deserts. The dishes all were very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good, but a bit noisy at times when busy. Staff was great.More
After a lovely aperitif outside we had an excellent dinner in the cozy atmosphere of 't Pestengasthuys. Would absolutely recommend the steak tartar as a starter! It's insanely good! Great food, great service!
The restaurant is very quaint in appearance The food was tasty with good service The vegetarian first course was creative but not phenomenal in tastes The main course was very tasty and the dessert was very tasty Excellent service I would try this establishment It...is good but not a wowMore
We had diner in this restaurant in the center of zwolle. The place is very nice and we were lucky to have a table just in front the fire place. The staff is very sympathetic and professional. My partner took the surprise seasonal menu while...I picked my own plates. Everything was delicious, fresh, tasty. The wine pairing was really nice as well. We’ll definitely come back ! I highly recommend. Make sure to book it in advance as it’s very popular.More
One of the best restaurants of Zwolle though in the higher price segment (75-100 euro per person). Located in an historic building in the city center of Zwolle. The cuisine is mostly French but with some twists. Excellent host and wine advise.
Had dinner with friends on cold winter nite. I find the restaurant is cute, situated in the city centre. We had 5 course dinner, the food were fantastic, cost is reasonable to the quality. Recommended wine were very nice too. Not to worry if you...don’t speak Dutch, they have menu in english as well and staff speaks good english.More
An excellent choice for a good price for everyone who looks to have a tasteful experience. You feel very welcome in this place.
Hands down my favourite restaurant in Zwolle. Eating here is a real treat, a complete night out. The service is wonderful, the food is beautifully put together. Choose a multi-course surprise meal, sit back and enjoy. The wines are perfectly selected to accompany the food.
Visited the Pestengasthuys for the umpteenth time - and as usual we were not disappointed. Chef Paul Stegeman worked his usual wonders and everything was fine. The standard of cooking is very close to the Librije here, and that at a fraction of the price....Still not a cheap restaurant of course. The ambiance is great, too, in this medieval former hospice with its high ceilings and stained glass windows. Great! Don't forget to make a reservation!More
The cook and his wife ( maitre d'hotel) welcome you in a 565 years old house in Zwolle city center nicely decorated as a restaurant and they serve outrageous tasty elaborated dishes.. Compliments to this family they deserve a michelin star..
Beautifull historical situated restaurant offering quality food for a pleasant evening with friends or colleagues
