This place holds the heart of the real Antwerp. It is mainly preferred by locals and we were brought here by a local. We loved the two tiny cats sleeping happily around. The beer is really gooooood, the service was excellent and they even had special shrimps :) Do not miss this place!

We stopped at Het Oud Arsenaal for a few drinks after Rubenshuis. A cute little local bar, with a mix of locals and tourists, and a couple of quirky cats. A good range of reasonably priced beers and snacks (cheese and rookworst are always great beer snacks) to pass the time on a rainy day.

Nice weather for once and the outside terrace was packed with locals - always a good sign. So, was sat inside on our own. Sounds sad but the place is just full of bric-a-brac including a bicycle on one wall ! The bar ha sbeen in the owners family for three generations and we were made to feel welcome though... More

You don't go here for a slap-up meal and you certainly don't need to dress up, but this little bar has a great atmosphere and an excellent selection of well-kept Belgian beers. Prices are good too. If you like beer, don't miss it! Go there on your way to dinner.

Great bar with an amazing selection of beers, frequented by locals and tourists alike. Family run since 1920;s, how do I know, one of the current owners made us so welcome and engaged in conversation about the bar and its history. Not much has changed in here since the twenties, great place to visit.

Perfectly situated for a refreshing beer break between Rubenshuis and Museum Mayer van de Bergh. Traditional atmosphere, wide beer selection, low prices.

Another timeless bar with pots of character. And friendly locals to chat to if you want. Off the tourist track - which is good - and pretty busy most afternoons & evenings. Worth going to find it though it is only 5 mins walk from the main pedestrian street in Antwerp.

Its certainly has a charming local feel and serves some decent local beer. Step in and be part of a small crowd mixed of regulars and guests.

Visited here on a Sunday morning. It was full of locals drinking. Despite this, the land lord and lady made us feel welcome. The house beer was nice enough. Fine for a quick visit.
