In our visit the staff was very nice to us and the service was good. The price is high and quality of the food is just not what you expect.

Just off the Grand Place 10 Euros for a meal and a glass of wine cannot be bad. You get what you pay for in this life. The service was good and it was warm place to be on a very cold day, service was good. Nothing to complain about.

I walked past this place during the day and thought it looked lovely with the fire and the art nouveau details so decided I would find it again for dinner. I was sorely disappointed. Even tho the reviews were average I decided to see for myself. The reviews are 100% correct. The service is terrible.. I waited over 30 minutes... More

We were cold and tired and looking for a quiet spot to get warm, eat lunch and rest a bit. This restaurant is along one of several streets in the area with nothing but restaurants and bars, most with someone standing outside trying to coax people in. Everyone should see the sign Tourist Trap written on each one. I asked... More

Sucked in I'm sorry to say as is the norm for some European cities and the street, very encouraging outside but food less than average, but we did have a set price meal. Won't be back thats for sure.

Recent reviews have been a bit derogatory. This is just a counterpoint. We braved the gauntlet of the various restaurant hawkers and ended up at Le Calalou for lunch. We ordered mussels, chips and a beer which was the €10 menu. When offered extra stuff, we just turned it down. The mussels and chips were tasty and more importantly freshly... More

The “Royal Paella with Seafood and 1/2 Lobster” contained Spanish rice, lobster, mussels, shrimp, and chicken. The chicken was most impressive because it was so juicy and tender; not overcooked at all. The shrimp was so fresh. If the lobster was just as juicy and tender as the chicken was, it would have been even better! But overall, it was... More

Literally the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The waiter out the front advertised a €10 meal to my family and I stated it included a main, dessert and free drink. He offered us garlic bread to start with- we asked whether this would be extra or part of the deal. He said it was included. He also lied... More

A real trap for the tourist: a very talkative and playful maitre is at the door picking you at the street, including complimentary beverages. Inside the food is dreadeful and the service even worse. Any money paid is too much for such a place. Belgian Tourist authorities should pay a visit to them...

We were aware that the restaurants in this area tend to have a guy outside trying to entice you in. We found this quite charming and rather funny. If you say "No" politely, they shrug their shoulders and look hurt but don't hassle you. As we could hear French chatter from the interior we decided that it would be a... More
