Traditional Belgian restaurant, where you can eat not only mussels, good service and good value for money. The place is cozy and old.

Went alone for dinner after travelling on my way back home, next door. Ordered the boudin mix as starter. Ok overall but drowned in a salad with vinegar. The white wine mussels were good though. Service was polite but nothing out of the extraordinary. Had to wait a long time to settle my bill. Money was on the table but... More

My fiancé and I ate here on one of our nights in Brussels. It's about a 15/20 walk from Grand Place so a pleasant stroll. The food was absolutely fantastic. They have a wide array of mussels, and I had a very nice Belgian beer stew. The puddings are also very good. The creme brulé was huge! The only thing... More

Belgian cuisine is not as famous as French or Italian, but underrated. And Volle Gas is a great place to try some Belgian food. I had the pleasure of eating here a few years ago (not in 2016) and really liked it. I'm not qualified to judge the authenticity of the food, but there are a number of Belgian dishes... More

We've been told to go to this place and we did. Not disappointed I can tell you as the food was gorgeous. Too much for me, I couldn't finish but still brilliant. They don't so tap water though as apparently people in Brussels tend to buy water most of the time (ok with the logic but not cool for the... More

The Volle Gas is a typical Belgian restaurant: the menu includes all the typical recipes of Belgian cuisine (you should try the carbonnade, the stoemp with sausages, the fondue de fromage, the casserole de moules) but also other more common ones, like the steak, and a good selection of fish dishes. The atmosphere is beautiful: the walls are covered in... More

This restaurant I can recommend both for businesss and private dinners. The moule was fantastic and the rare 300g steak an absolute joy! Cosy art deco interior which adds to the experience! Good service and personnel. Try Orval with dinner!

Decided to go there based on the good reviews and definitely worth it! Booking advised! Looking for a good Belgian restaurant do not go further. Nearby there is Le clan des belges but it is just not the same. The decoration, atmosphere, food, drinks and the service here are typically Belgian. We took : - the "lapin a la kriek",... More

A restaurant oozing Belgian atmosphere. It's busy and lively, yet relaxing. The food was delicious although weirdly the starters were very expensive and miniscule, but the main courses were very generous, delicious and cheaper! Highly recommended if you are looking for an atmospheric typical Belgian Restaurant. We would go back in an instant!

More Belgian than this it hardly gets. The menu is full of classics and the interior very traditional. The trendy neighbourhood of Fenrnand Cocq - Flagey offers many places for drinks and dinner but le Volle Gas is a classic one. This night the stoemp looked and tasted great but the carbonade was slightly tasteless and unimpressive. The service was... More
