When in Bruges , remember lots of restaurants and cafes seem to shut Mondays and Tuesdays ! We arrived cold and tired on a wet Tuesday evening, hotel restaurant full -so in despair walked down a little side road and found this haven. Set menus make the whole thing easy for the foreign visitor and staff here are so helpful... More

Having seen the advertisements as we walked by this restauranat, and whiist looking at the menu outside, we had additional help from the young waitress who came out and told us all about the menu and various other options. Having listened and sampled the smells, we decided to have dinner within. It was one of the best decisions of the... More

We came here for lunch, so glad that we did! We opted for the 20 euro meal deal which was a cheese croquet, this was crispy and so delicious!! Then had Flemish stew, which was tasty and plentiful. Then desert was a chocolate mousse, at this point I was full but still ate it! Can't fault the food. Service was... More

We had lunch here - twice! The service is friendly and efficient but you aren't made to feel rushed. The first day we came here for waffles and drinks, which was very nice indeed. We liked the atmosphere so paid a return visit the following day for lunch (onion soup, croque monsieur, apple pie and ice cream) and again had... More

We came across this restaurant quite by accident on a long weekend in Bruges last November 2016....we were looking for somewhere to eat and it was extremely cold, and we decided to venture inside to try the flemish stews. This turned out to be an excellent decision! The food was fantastic. I had the rabbit stew which was delicious...so much... More

We got one of the menus, that had a croquete a stew and desert. The croquet was very small but tasty, flemish stew was quite good. Its a nice place to try local stuff, a bit expensive.

The food was alright, nothing special, but the salad that I had was worth the money . The two young persons that worked the evening when we visited was very nice and friendly which all guests seemed to appreciate.

t'Vagevuur is very quaint, the food is wholesome and pleasant, the waiter we meet seemed a little surely, but we set ourselves a challenge to make him smile, which he eventually did and it made everything much nicer, the beef stew was very nice and worth a try

This is a small restaurant which provides amazing food. We can recommend the Beef Stew and the Classic Chicken Noodles. Don't forget to remove your hat before coming in to this establishment: they insist you remove them. Apart from this unwelcome return to 20th century stuffiness this is a great restaurant.
